Serious slow problem with 1.42 and only on Solo

Armageddon

BH Lover
Hi, I have a serious problem with Solo boxes only. I use BH 1.42 on 2 Duo and on 2 Solo. Both Duo works like charm, but both the Solo slowing down when have been used for a few days. I use exactly the same configs/settings on both the Duo and Solo boxes. I think it might have to to with EPG refresh or / and Rytec EPG download. It seems like sometimes after an update the boxes slows down. It is so slow it not even respond sometimes end I have to press resetbutton or wait minutes to bring up shutdown menu. I have a crash log from this morning also if it could help to see what´s wrong.

I think you have problems with memory.
Do you have picons installed?
Where?
Do you have a usb stick? Is it mounted properly?
Do you have a swap file?

When you have problem you should tell us, how much memory you are using and how much flash you are using.
Try blue botton, info.

How much EPG providers You are using and with what frequency you download EPG ??

You have problems with EPG .Do you have HDD or network HDD/NAS ??
Use max 2 EPG providers.

BH Lover
I have only 2 EPG providers, Rytec SWEDEN and Sky_UK. I save them on media/net NFS mount nas. I download every night at 05:10. Furthermore I use EPG refresh to load streams, 2 channels. But there are no problems in Duo boxes..

Those pic for Vu+ duo and not Vue solo
And @ 1st post U said your problem is with Solo,,,,!
May be if used BH Epg back up @ main menu and swap file, the issue will be done with!
I Dload 3 Epg providers, without leaving the Epg Panel, one after one, and no crashes!
GdLuck!

U"r "Carsh log from this morning, mainly says :

"<!-- Cannot allocate memory -->

So the issue. i think, is memory allocation @the 5:10 refresh epg time!

Yes pic is from Solo, the skin says Duo.

How should EPG backup solve the issue? How is it work?

Yes could be, but why you think? I also see now that Rytec EPG seems to have some lockfile... I cannot change the time for EPG download, cannot disable it either. Nothing happens when i press Save...

EPG has limits
So do not use more than two maximum of three EPG providers and not download every day
and not EPG on network it only slows down your image and ZAP.

Install agn image your image is i think full ,so you cannot change configs .

And my recommendation is not use heavy skins with PIG .

Good,,I started from BH 7 or 10,,do not remember and with the 800 and now with Duo!

1st install USB stick,,,and make swap file on it,,,to free some of your RAM memory usage @ the Flash!

Right now I´m using only 1 EPG provider. I can only choose daily or not at all, or is there some other way? About the EPG on network, it´s working perfectly even om DM800, so that should not affect performance this much.

What do you mean by Image full?

Allright, but when the box is fresh restarted it is very fast even with pig.

We can discuss a few more days
I have give you advice on how to use the box for months with no problems.
The rest is up to you.

I will try to create a swap on usb. But why use EPG backup?

We know the problems and limitations of EPG
You can not load into memory EPG, which is more than 10MB
without the risk to crash image enigma.

Backup is intended for those cases where it still crash image/enigma
for some reason. Then you can continue to use the EPG from backup.

If you use a EPG which is on the network drive
It will slow down image and ZAP .
since in that case you read EPG through the network.

Skins with PIG using 1280x720 pixels full screen
sometimes with heavy and large graphics
which of course slows down Menu / panels and the ZAP.
