Hello

I have some strange issues where my new iPhone XR is interfering with my Vu solo se.

If I press ok on remote, every time I use Face ID it mimics me pressing ok on remote. If I press volume it will mimic it, even when I lastly turn box off, everyone I use Face ID on iPhone with will turn box on and off.

Can anyone suggest how I can stop it, driving me nuts.

Sorry but what are you expecting me to say ?

Your iPhone XR is obviously leaking IR signal.

I've not seen anyone else report similar issues and I have no issue's using face id with my iPhone X.

I'd try what happens disabling the BT, taken that is not a normal behaviour. I'd also search the Internet for similar issues (obviously not only involving VU+ boxes, but any devices with remote controls).

when you say BT you meant bluetooth, no difference.

I am surprised no one else having this issue using iphone XR and Vu Solo SE v2 using cable tuners.

So just to update, phone has been swapped and had same issue, got my neighbours XR to test and same issue.

I thought it might either be my surroundings or my box. When to a mates to test the Iphone XR on his box and had the same issue.

Thanks

Chris

Have tried changing the remote control code? Obviously, do it either in the image and in the remote.
To change in the remote follow your VU+ manual, where it says:

6. System Code Change.
You can change the system code of your VU+ remote according to the VU+ model you want to control.
The default system code is Mode 2.

Mode 1 : SOLO / DUO
Mode 2 : UNO
Mode 3 & 4 : reserved for future models.

Press <<2 + 7>>, <HELP>, <0001 or 0002 or 0003 or 0004>

1. Press 2 and 7 for three seconds until LED is on. 2. Press HELP
3. Press <0001 or 0002 or 0003 or 0004>

It's better to change the "Remote Control Mode" before in the image and then in the remote, otherwise you won't be able to control your VU+ if you do the opposite (and you'll need to use OpenWebInterface to emulate a remote!).

The only issue with this, is when he reflashes the box next, the remote won't work, unless he changes the remote code back.

Better to get the phone replaced with one that isn't leaking IR signal.

:) Yes, you are right. But he said that another identical iPhone he borrowed has the same problem.
After all, the reflash of the box is needed only and if he wants the new version, not after every updates. In case, after the reflash, he can use the OWIF.

Then there is a design fault with the phone.

Does not happen with iPhone X, XS or XS Max and they all use the same IR for face id, but don't cause this issue.

And this is a really interesting thing. That's why I suggested him to also search for general problems, not only with VU+ boxes but also other devices.

I’ve had also issues with Iphone XS Face ID and Vu+ Solo SE.

Mostly while watching recordings, opening the phone with face id would cause the recording to be rewinded or forwarded by 1 minute or so.

Changing the remote code from default ”2” to ”1” has helped little bit. The box still reacts to face id, but rather than rewinding, face id now sends equivalent code as pressing ”Ok” button once which is less disturbing as it just shows the time line for the recording. The time line will disappear automatically after a while and wont require using remote for Vu+ to clear the situation.
