Extra information
Some VU + models with FBC tuner appear exhausted on the web, when replacing stock, the tuners are DVB-S2X.
In others appear the 2 models with a difference of 20€uros.+/-.
Buy a VU + Ultimo4K at the same price as always, already with tuner DVB-S2X.
As Ev0 indicates, the blind search continues on pending tasks.

I thought that every terrestrial tuners were like that because in both my two VU+, the Solo4K and the Duo2, my terrestrial tuners are the so called DUAL, that means DVB-C/T2 and then you use it according to your needs.
Isn't so for Duo2 4K as well.

Duo4k only supports FBC fitment tuners, it doesn't have a slot for the older style ones.

What about the Dual Tuner DVB-T2 (MTSIF) what do you know? Is it FBC for T2?
Can it be installed in any slot of the Duo 4K?

Advanced tuner system for any possible tuner configurationOne FBC tuner supports 8 demodulators. Two slots make it 16 demodulators totally.
  • Slot A : FBC DVB-S2X, FBC-C V1/V2 and Dual T2(MTISF) Tuner
  • Slot B : FBC DVB-S2X, FBC-C V2 and Dual T2(MTISF) Tuner
* FBC-C V1 Tuner can only be connected to slot A.

I just asked a provider about the possibility to add T2 Dual Tuner to Vu duo 4K and he said to me that the new T2 Tuner for FBC slot will be available at the start of the new year.
So some new T2 tuner is being developed from VU+.

I think I have already understood the reason of this MTISF ... It seems that this tuner was designed on purpose for the Duo 4K, since this in slot A supports the tuner FBC-C (v1), not referring to the Hibrid DVB-C tuners / T2, Hybrid DVB-C / T2 H.265 and Dual Tuner DVB-C / t2. That is, not knowing if there is any technical impediment, there is no FBC T / T2 tuner.

After some research:

VU + MTSIF is a new type of tuner for Vu + receivers. The Vu + MTSIF is a DVB-T2 hybrid dual tuner for DVB-T, DVB-T2 and DVB-C standards. In addition, it is a new type of tuner working on MTSIF technology. According to some information, the tuner should work similarly to the FBC tuners up to a maximum of two frequencies.

obs: the video was produced by the store that sells it, if you infrigate the rules I ask the moderator to delete it. The intention is to make the tuner known.

I read on satkurier that the Duo 4K will be available on 1 December.

I tried to read a bit of the MTSIF patent, it seems about the interface between the demodulators and the decoder SoC, no real difference for users maybe.

I would have prefered the new dvb-T tuner to have 4 demodulators (and still interface via MTSIF).

About Multistream (MiS) and T2-MI, I’m starting to think that VU+ is the only “black sheep” because of Broadcom SoCs (except the Broadcom SoC of the Zero 4K). I’m afraid my next decoder will be a DM...

They lowered the specs too..

Before, it was supposed to ship with 8GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, but now (from their website) it's coming with lousy 4GB storage and only 2GB of RAM!

Even my old crappy double din navigation unit in my car has 4GB of RAM.

Amazing how we're heading into 2019 and there's manufacturer still releasing devices with RAM less than 4GB!

Let's see what DM offers before I go with powerful (but less convenient) HTPC rout.

Because Linux is not the completely inefficient windows, you know? There are also really efficient operative systems in the world, fortunately. So, 4Gb might be as 16Gb for the full of nots windows and, this way, they can lower the price for everyone.
