vu+uno cannot tune some transponders

Hello,

I have a vu+uno unit, that I flashed with VTI 3.0 image and then I applied this patch http://www2.vuplus.com/14-vuplus-articles/91-vu-uno-upgrade

I noticed that some channel like "France 2 HD" gives me this error:
Aug 19 13:11:07 vuuno user.warn kernel: FE tune

I have the issue for example for "France 2 HD" on 12207V 27500 2/3 SID 9002
while "Canal+ Sport HD" on 12012V 27500 2/3 SID 8804 works

My LNB is turned to Astra 19,2°. The specs are available here http://www.inverto.tv/products/product.php?section=1&id=58

My LNB configuration in the vu+uno is set to
simple, mode unique, satellite AStra (19.2E), send DISEqC yes

Thanks
Xavier

How can I distinguish if it s a signal issue, a LNB configuration issue, a LNB physical pb, a stallite.xml issue or a vu+ image issue?

Or is there a way to activate more logs to better understand the problem.
Or should I test some others specific channels to confirm that it's not a signal/orientation issue?
Are you saying that it may be linked to the image itself?

Thanks
Xav

If I view your image (France 2 HD.JPG)
I do not see any signal there.

So perhaps it comes to antenna installation.
I do not know what signal You have on other transponders
if it is weak, it is clear that this is the problem.

This is what I was also wondering, but in this case I was thinking why did this channel was scanned if no signal?
I tried to redo the scan and this channel always come back even though there is no signal?
So I was maybe thinking that the satellite pointer tool doesn't show any signal because the vu+ doesn't tune the transponder?

Merci

I see one mistake on your screenshot/image
France 2 HD is on transponder Freq 12207 (my screenshoot 1) .
On the transponder is even more channels that you can test. (my screenshoot 2)
So make a manual scan.
Main question is what kind of reception/signal/SNR of other channels You have on this satellite and other transponders ?
and what kind of reception/signal/SNR on this transponder.

You can test this transponder and all other transponders with Satfinder
Manual or Predefined transponder
for Manual tune you have to entered freq , polarisation etc

and for Predefined

Satfinder>>Tune ..... button left /right on remote Predefined transponder
and now on Tranponder in Satfinder ( button left /right ) you can change transponders and test signal/SNR

Hello,

I have tried to scan on this transponder and I find 0 channels. I also tried satellite finder and the SNR is 0%

So it maybe be an antenna issue. I have a 65cm dish which is maybe too small for good reception on all the transponders?

I have also attached my images of the manual scan, manual scan result as well as the SNR for C+

I did the installation myself so I may have to consider to call a pro or to re-do and maybe with a bigger dish :) and why not a dual LNB )

Thanks for the info here. I have 0 on this transponder but 49% for example on 12187000,27500000,H,FEC 3/4

I have 90% on the same transponder.
The big difference.
So it is clear that the signal is not optimal.
I do not know in which part of the world you are located and what size dish is needed for the Astra
Maybe you could compare with some of your neighbors
What size satellite dish they use and what kind of reception they have.

I use a 88 cm no name old satellite dish in northwestern Europe.

Are you sure that you have the maximum signal from the satellite
and that all cables and connectors are firmly connected ?

I am located in France (South West) and I ll try to know what the others have.
I did understand when I bought the dish that 65cm was OK if the dish was well oriented.
What is strange is that I have signal 50% on most of the transponder and 0% in some of them (which I assume are on the same orientation from earth so either you have them all or none but it strange to have only partial coverage.

I think I will call a pro so I am sure this is sorted out (or invest in a bigger dish)

MERCI for all your support

I think the signal is not strong enough for France
even for a dish of 65 cm
So the antenna is not optimally tuned/oriented, or there is an obstacle
or some other problem with LNB or cables.
We should not forget that with the 60cm dish must be very well adjusted
and mechanically fastened
For France I still recommend a minimum of 80 cm dish,to avoid the problems of bad weather, etc.

just a suggestion ::: ¿why don´t you load an already prepared settings file with dreamset for example??
Which file is a personal choice,,,its just a thought ;)

my personal choice is catseye settings , in BH you can dl directly into the reciever- yellow-green addons manager-dl manager-settings mpt sure about other images...
otherwise dl from net then using dreamset to install only the preferred sats ..

I had a very similar problem to yours a couple of moths ago.
Root cause was that I first downloaded some channel settings on my computer, the edited them with dreamset then uploaded them to the VU+ box.
I has 33% signal on AB3, AB4 (13°) and Canal+ HD (19°).
This was due to dreamset that messed-up something in the chan settings.
Try to download and install channels settings from the the BH image directly and check if problem persists.

Thanks for the advice, I will try to do so from my VTI image. Do you also recommend the catseye ones?

Catseye settings are very good for all European sats, his latest update was on the 19th August which you can download direct from our server.

i searched but only found the post were talking about catesye but not the dl file. I saw that you re upload it again but not sure in which section to look at? Plugin, tools, fw ...... ?

(catseye is not directly downloadable from my VTI image so I will have to install it manually with ipkg)

merci
