@Matrix10 When I try either method, it doesn't work for me:

When trying to download from server I get what looks like an XML file displayed

I can connect to the server but the installation fails

install addon issue.jpg

When I try to do a manual installation I get this error:
Manual install ipk.jpg

Can you give any guidance to what I'm missing?

Again.
If you can not install it then there is a problem with you image, internet connection
or something else.
This is tested with Black Hole 3.0.9 and works.

The screenshot I provided shows that the internet connection is not the problem - it downloads the four gz files but then gives an error for each of them
* unzip: invalid gzip magic

Does anyone with knowledge of what linux is trying to tell me have any idea what this error means? Searching the web returns suggestion varying from the gz file being compressed in some strange way, to the file being corrupted

I can happily download the gz file to my laptop and unzip it so it doesn't look like the file is corrupted.

I'm running
BH 3.0.9.0
Enigma 2019-04-17-master
DNS settings are 8.8.8.8/8.8.8.4

Can any of the experts on this forum help me out when I've followed the instructions to the letter and am still having the problem?

I really do not know which file you download and how you get it .
But for sure not file i have write to download from BH server.
On our server is the LCD4Linux ipk file and not the gzip file.
And not version 4.8 but version 5.0-r4
The only configuration for LCD4Linux is a tgz file and only one file
for UNO4K SE on Black Hole image server.

And www.w3... not exist on our server

You do not use the original image
or you plugged in a plugin that download plugins from another server but not the Black Hole server.
and you download from Black Hole server dozens of packages that are not needed for LCD4Linux.
Or you tried a manual installation of an old version.

My advice is to install Black Hole image again, and LCD4Linux and config from Black Hole image server As I wrote it already.

After installing the plug-in channels began to slowly open. If the plugin is disabled, the channels open quickly. Help, how to fix?

This is a plugin problem on some boxes that can only be fixed by the LCD4Linux author.
The author was informed of the problem on duo 4k and maybe on other boxes.
Discussion from earlier.
https://forums.openpli.org/topic/66973-slow-zap-on-vu-duo-4k/page-6

It seems that some very old LCD4Linux versions do not have this problem.

It helped me. "In LCD4Linux settings, you need to correct the delay of 50 ms (by default) to 0 ms. Now it works well." Post #70 Thank!
Lcd4linux 5.0r5 appeared. Where can I download for Black Hole.

In my test with Duo4K I do not see a big difference
if any.
Lcd4Linux default is 50 ms and if you change to 0 ms I think not change.
It is impossible to get the same ZAP speed as without LCD4Linux.
But if you like LCD4Linux there is no other choice.

I have test this all with V5R5
Maybe it will be on the server soon.

I set 0. Delays have stopped. I have Ultimo 4K.

In the line "display delay" is empty

Not really,
when reboot ,you get the same value again default Lcd4Linux value 50 ms.

Display Delay [ms] (50 - 2000)

minimum is 50 ms and not 0

To repeat for those who do not know and have problems with the connection , for the web connection
you only need to enter the first three numbers of your network BOX IP

IP from your box for example : 192.168.192.3
you have to enter : 192.168.192

I rebooted, the value is saved "0", when viewed through the web.
If you look after the reboot in the plugin menu, it is empty.
In this case, there is no channel on delay.

After reboot , for me does not remain 0.

I can change that to 0
but after reboot is again 50
I do not have big slowdown
bigger than normal for this plugin.
Test on Duo 4K.
