Seems someone has found a rtl8812bu linux driver and I'm working on it.

I need Amazon links for some devices who uses that driver to make local tests.
Hi angelofsky1980.
Do you have any good news about the driver that i need?
If i can help you anyway please tell me.
Best regards

Hello,

I'm trying for days to make a WiFi dongle to work on my VU+ Uno 4k SE.
I have 2 usb dongles:
VU + 600 Mbps Dual Band Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter with Antenna
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07F761FWW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and:
GigaBlue USB 2.0 WiFi Adapter 600 Mbit
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01JK62QAG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both have RTL8811AU chipset, when i plug in a VU+ Zero (BH Image latest), the blue leds start blinking right away and i can setup/connect on my wifi network
In the WLAN menu is stated; 8812AU
I have not installed anythig extra for the wifi, it was a simple plug&play

When i plug any of dongles on the VU+ Uno 4K SE (BH image latest), nothing happens, have restarted many times the box, tried to install some old wifi kernels .ipk founded on the net -> zero results, nada, not even have the Wireless menu/option

The both dongles works on Vu+ Zero, so i think that is a driver problem on the BH image for Vu+ Uno 4k SE… correct me if i'm wrong…

@angelofsky1980: you are one of my last chance to make this work, please tell me what to do, what to install

Thank you

How the fuck a Vu+ accessory not working on a VU+ box ???
Have not tried other image.

Drivers and kernel fixed for all Vu+ STB´s, regarding DUAL BAND WIRELESS USB 2.0 ADAPTER ( Vuplus Brand 600 Mbps ), for Blackhole image.

1) MAKE an "ONLINE UPDATE" for BLACKHOLE 3.0.9 ... in order to obtain BLACKHOLE 3.0.9.I.

2) REBOOT and insert your device.

3) Set your device according your NETWORK.

....

Enjoy it! :)

Thanks @Shiro

Hi,

Am using Netgear A600ac USB WiFi on Vu+ Uno 4k which worked flawless until upgrade to 3.0.9 H or I after which it's not working anymore. Installing version 3.0.9 C restored WiFi connection again. Solution?

Hi,
Thanks for reply. I have made an online upgrade to 3.0.9 I, but the WiFi is not recognized. I had to reinstall the C version & then it appeared again under Settings/Network. Couldn't find the chipset make on the Netgear site, but after a search I guess it's using the RTL8811AU chipset.
Hope this is of help

To know your chipset you have to boot your box without the wifi pen then plugin it and immediatly digit the command in telnet dmesg and post here the result. Your chipset could be RTL8821AU or RTL8811AU that is mantained in BlackHole by Angelofsky

Alternative way: plugin into a PC and you'll have the possibility to see it on the taskbar or Device manager

Hi,
Again, my gratitude for your answers. Didn't work trying with the PC. Checked again, it appears the chipset is the Realtek RTL8811AU .

Hi,

Since, unfortunately, I haven't got an answer, I had to find a solution. Since it is obvious from this forum the BH supports Realtek chipset RTL8812AU, I performed a Google search & found a Linksys WiFi USB adapter (WUSB6300) which uses this chipset. It supports AC-1200. The adapter worked perfectly out of the box & upon plugging it to the VU+ Uno 4K receiver.

I sincerely hope that no future updates of BH breaks supporting this chipset ...!!

Since your comments are unfair, i can give you a reason.

Read carefully this post --> https://www.vuplus-community.net/bo...er-for-new-vu-kernel.19003/page-5#post-264088 , and as you see, you are completely wrong.

Please, remember that our team works to help VuPlus users, as I am and you are. But, we have also our lives, as: Family, work ... and so on!

Note: Your NETGEAR 600Mbps device, is it working now?

Thanks, please read my reply to your quote. I did update to 3.0.9 I not once but twice & everytime the update stopped the Netgear adapter. I was forced to back down to the C version, contacted you guys, waited 6 days & had to move on. I don't think that this is unfair.

I appreciate all your work efforts & wish you good luck
