Probably, single tuner, or better, single demodulator ;)

At silicon labs web page you can read:

Code:
Si2166-D Satellite TV Demodulator (DVB-S2X/S2/S)
Si2166-D satellite demodulators combine digital-video broadcast (DVB) satellite functions in one highly integrated device. Si2166-D demodulators provide a single-chip, multi-standard solution to simplify the design of complex video front-ends common in iDTV and STB designs.

Si2166-D devices integrate digital demodulators for first and second generation satellite DVB standards, DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X/S2, respectively, in a single advanced CMOS die. Leveraging our proven digital demodulation architecture, Si2166-D devices achieve excellent satellite reception performance while significantly minimizing front-end design complexity, cost and power dissipation. Connecting Si2166-D devices to a satellite silicon tuner results in a high-performance and cost optimized TV or STB front-end solution.

Si2166-D ICs enable a low-cost system implementation due to minimal BOM and very small package footprint (7x7 mm, 48-pin QFN). Due to its compact form factor and reduced power dissipation in DVB-S2X/S2, Si2166-D is ideal for module (NIM) integration or on-board design.

Can anything be done with the software to make the duo4k MIS work better?

Work better or work? I only tried it on this channel ... does it work on others?

My Uno 4K SE does not have the S2-X tuner ... can anyone try this model or another with this type of tuner? Does the FBC function inhibit?

It works mainly on 5W which now is going to inclined orbit, on 30W it only works on one of the transponders, if you do a re-scan it doesn't lock, so basically its very hit and miss for a quality receiver, I just want to know if a fix can be found as the cheap zero 4k I had seemed better in locking the MIS transponders. I don't want to jump ship and go to another manufacturer but it seems this box doesn't get the support it should.

Because I can only test on Hispasat ....

In 5W, frequency 11179V, it has a value: "ACM / VCM"

Do you know what it is? Is this what you tune in to?

Then on other frequencies there is still "stream + x" (x = number), that does not exist on Hispasat ... personally I have no interest in this MIS channel on Hispasat, however it was good that the support could correct the situation.

Yes it doesn't work on Duo 4K or Uno 4K SE (DVB-S2), it works on Zero 4K.
Will the low value of the symbol rate have any influence?

Must be a tuner problem as both these receivers have the same tuner modules. I can't see vu coming up with a solution or a new tuner module any time soon.

Who produces the Duo 4K tuner?

Don't know who makes them, and I don't think its low symbol rate as works on transponders with 4k rate and not on another 8k transponder which I tried, as I thought its a problem with the tuner module but I don't know if a software work around would solve it, these tuners where not sold as MIS but then it was added by the image driver update, so possibly if someone that reads this is a coder maybe he could look into it.

Support for Duo 4k is poor, it's not available and no longer produced. Probably that can be solved by software but i doubt anyone will do it.
I think that Vu+ Ultimo 4K may have the same problem.

Is the production of Duo 4K over? Really who wants to buy a new one has difficulties in finding ...

Yes, almost certainly, the Last 4K will have the same problem ... whoever has this model can put the result here.

Yes i confirm, it is no longer produced. It is almost impossible to find it.

Why produce a receiver for under a year then stop production? doesn't make any sense and you would think Vu should support their boxes more to beat the cheaper competition.

@scorpion007 try to tune this frequency of Hispa to Duo 4K:

10922 V DVB-S2 / QPSK 1667 9/10

It works in Duo4k [Tuner: Vuplus DVB-S NIM(SI2166) (DVB-S2X)] only if you deactivate "Pilot" ==> Pilot "OFF".

There is a big bug in search/tunning channels with that tuner...
Tell us, if this setting works for you

Exactly. Such a good receiver and so bad support...
I confirm. Sync is there but NO CHANNELS can be found on Duo4K [Tuner: Vuplus DVB-S NIM(SI2166) (DVB-S2X)].

0 Channels found.

We all would appreciate a lot the right function of the channel search application/driver/whatever... Blindscan for that tuner also, if we can wish.

Yes I was able to tune in but something strange happens: When viewing on TV the sound has nothing to do with what you are seeing, you are playing a radio... I recorded it on the disc and then the sound is compatible with what is happening:

My tuner is not identical to yours, it is a 45308X... I do not know what this could mean a significant difference ... I do not understand how it is giving a radio in the sound, recording on the disc is ok | Tested in OBH on a 4K Duo.

Look at the Audio of the Channel (Yellow Button) and select the MPEG Stream. You are listen to the AAC Audio Stream and this is a radio stream. This because you prefere AAC over others in your settings.
