As follows :-

1} Press Blue button twice @STB Remote Control and select the Devices Manger, you will see this screen {1}

2} After selecting Devices Manager you see this [you can see the 2 partitions made on usb stick are not mapped]. Press the Red button {2}

3} Now the screen will change to this {3}

4} Now you can select which devices you want to mount, just highlight the device with the up/down buttons and press the left/right buttons to choose how you want it mounted (universes, video, usb, hdd etc) then just press the Red button to save this mount {4}

5} Now the box will ask you to reboot so it can create this mount. Once the box has rebooted, if you check in the Device Manger you see something similar to this {5}

I have Solo 2, BH 1.7.9-3.
Internal HD is 1TB, then a USB stick for epg etc and an external 1 TB hard drive. all of the drives are mounted.
I have no problem in playing the media from the external HDD.
When I use explorer or DCC to copy the files from my laptop to the external HD, it says the drive is read only. it won't let me delete the existing file on the drive or create the new folder. Ideas.... ?

try to change external drive attributes to 755. Use filezilla or total commander to do that

Hi Darian, Thank you for you reply. I have downloaded Total Commander. I can see the Solo2 and then those folders which are on the external HDD. Can you please help me further to change the attributes..... ?

you need to create new ftp connection to your box by entering its IP address, username and password (if you have any); then connect to your box - in the main catalogue you will see all folders - just click on [mnt] shortcut and you will get into folder with all mounted devices - select your external hdd (if you mounted it as usb that will be usb; if you mounted it as video - it will be video) by pressing mouse right button - then go to file and change its attributes - select 'write' in appearing window.

However it could be done much quicker but you have to write down how you've mounted your external hdd.

Thanks Darian,
I tried that, I was connected successfully, checked on "write" and when I click OK I get this message: "Can not change attributes of remote files!"

I guess your drive is already formatted using ext part. Unmount your drive and mount again as mmc or usb2 or hdd2.
I have this drive for a while, it was formatted using NTFS. I unmounted and mounted it as mmc1, tried changing the attributes but same thing :(
Thank you for your patience and help so far...

PS: I did copy a file once but don't know what happened or what i did that it won't let me do the same again!
