Many users know that they can use TV remote control to drive Vu+ boxes with Hdmi-Cec
But not all know that you can also use Vu+ RC to control your Tv.

You can find instructions in Vu+ manuals:

Vu+ Ultimo Remote Control programming instructions: manual page 72
Tv code list: manual page 75

Vu+ Uno Remote Control programming instructions: manual page 70
Tv code list: manual page 73

Here you can find manuals:

Hi. I managed to set Uno RCU to control LG 50PV350 plasma TV. Works fine, for TV control works On/Off, volume control and input selection. It is fine to use only one RCU. BUT I had big problems to set it up. The sequence is not clearly described in manual and I know I tried it at least 20 times until I succeeded.

Personally i thought the total reverse, you have been able to Control your TV with linux sat boxes RCs for 10 years now
At least all the ones i have owned you could.

Yet i had no idea your could control your Vu+ with a TV's RC....
Which is great news, as find the new Vu+ Ultimo RC very hard to use at night, and the backlit Sansumg Series 8 RC would be great if it could control the Vu...

Sorry but I don`t remember the code I used, but I remember that in setup sequence described in manual is one issue which was hardly understendible for me. I think it is some pause which should be done (or should not be done) or something in this way. I remember that I asked here in forum and I got answer which was quite same like in manual BUT there were some little diference which halped me to set it up. I `m really sorry that I cannot help You more.

I found it frustraiting until I realised that you need to enter the manufactures code (see manual PDFs) then *hold down* mute until the tv mutes. All made sense once I realised that.

Press buttons 1 and 3 simultaneously until the 'TV Power' button on the remote illuminates
Enter the Manufactures code i.e Panasonic was 2153
Hold the MUTE button down whilst pointing remote at the TV, until the TV mutes
Stop pressing MUTE and check the Volume buttons work

To exit press OK plus the STOP key (recording stop) together the 'TV Power' button will go off.

Hi,

I have been having problems programming my VU+ Solo2 remote to operate a Panasonic: TH-42PX80B tv.
I've gone through the "0000" Full Automatic scan, and tried various Panasonic codes picked up off the internet, to no avail.

Please can anyone shed any light on this, or is it just a case of the remote won't work my model of tv

Thanks

Hi

All I can tell you is what I know I.e. It's a bit deceptive about what you really need to do

use the Panasonic code, in my post above yours, and literally stand in front of the tv holding down mute and count to 20, see what happens

Hope this helps
