Recently updated my 2.0.5.3 to 2.0.8.1 hoping that I can use the default media player to watch downloaded movies. But there is still a problem playing AC3 sound. 2 movies, same sound codec reported by vlc (codec a52 (aka ac3), channels 3f2r/lfe, sample rate 48000, bitrate 384 kb/s) one movie sound is fine, other has no sound. Any clue? Thank You

Thanks a lot for your great work all you guys at BH Team!
I want to make a suggestion for your future BH Release images and please if possible insert this in Auto Language selection settings:
EPG language selection! It's a problem with some channels that have epg in 2 or 3 languages(simulcrypt) and we can't select the right language for the epg!
Thank you in advance and i really hope this could be put in the next release!

Hi all, I have been using this Image (BH 2.0.8.1) for about a week and I would like to report some bugs which unfortunately don't leave me other choice than to flash back ViX.

First my set-up:
  • I have a one motor dish with 1 Unicable Inverto LNB (4 feeds in 1 cable).
  • I have a 2 twin tuner DUA2 - 4 tuners in total
  • I use the loopthrough from Tuner A to Tuner B and from Tuner C to Tuner D - thus 2 physical connections of cables to the box
  • Tuner A controls the motor
This is basically it.

After setting everything up I have found out that the receiver would never use tuner A, unless I chose a satellite that was not configured in tuner B/C/D. If then I would choose a different satellite (not configured in the other tuners) tuner A would finally take over, move the dish and switch to the channel, however when moving back to a satellite configured also in tuner (B/C/D one or all, did not matter), the receiver would just switch to those tuners, and as they are not configured to use the motor it would just show as 0 signal (as the dish was pointing to a different satellite). Only disabling all other tuners, or not configuring them at all would make Tuner A take over again and turn the dish to the right spot.

I configured the tuners exactly the same way as I did with ViX, as the options are almost all the same, however it just did not work.

So this means that this week I have been basically living with just 1 tuner, instead of all 4.

2nd issue is present on all images I have tried and also on solo2 and VU+ DUO1 (the original), but only on more recent images (I think the old kernel did not have this issue, however can't find a stable old release for this VU+ DUO1).

When trying to stream uncompressed channels over internal network (LAN), all channels on 30W Hispasat that have a PMT of 817 refuse to stream.

If I request the transcoded feed than it works, however if I ask for the raw, uncompressed feed it just gives me an error.

Please try to tune transponder

30.0°W - Hispasat 1E - 12476.00 - Horizontal - 118 - Europe - DVB-S2 - 8PSK - 27500 3/4 - NID:54 - TID: 48

All channels on this transponder will not stream when selecting the raw, uncompressed stream (both through VLC and Web interface or XBMC with TuxBox). In VU+ DUO2, default port 8001.

In the transcoded feed it will work OK, however for internal network I don't want to use the transcoding feature.

You can try this yourselves even if you do not have the codes for these channels, as if it will work you will see in VLC or XBMC a feed of a black screen. However what happens to me is that the stream just fails.

If anyone could try to see how this could be solved I would greatly appreciate it.

I'll just answer the first question

because I am not convinced that you have test BH image with the latest drivers.
But I can not test it because I have not four tuners and LNB you have.
BH team/image add and coding has no influence on the behavior of the tuners and orginal VU+ coding.

We've had two updates regarding tuners from VU+
If the bug still exists then it is a problem for VU +
that we can not fix.
We follow VU +

update driver
20131216
- Fix dual tuner loop through problem
update driver
20131230
- Fix dual tuner problem(duo2)

I don't have a motor so I'm not an expert and I don't know if it's possible, but if you have only 1 dish with 1 unicable lnb, why don't you let all the 4 tuners control the motor?

I think this is not possible because it uses loopthrough from a to b from b to c and from c to d
main tuner is A

Hi all,

Thanks for all the replies.

So let me clarify some things:

In order to simplify it I will first explain how I have this connected and then why you can't have all tuners control the motor.

So lets start:
1) Even though I have a unicable LNB, I still use 1 splitter and I have 2 feeds going into my box.
  • You can only loop-through in VU+ DUO2 with the dual tuners. This means you are looping A with B (and you have a feed connected to Tuner A) and you do the same between B and C (and you have the second feed connected to tuner C). In order to have this work you need to select different frequencies to on each tuner, this way your receiver acts as if 4 separate feeds were connected from a quad LNB to all each of the 4 tuners. Hope this make it a bit clearer.
2) Now I will try to explain why only tuner A is configured as a rotational.
  • If all tuners are configured to send commands to the motor, if you are watching something on tuner A and you request tuner B to stream a different satellite channel from a different device, the box will request the motor to move and stay at the same place. Not really sure what would happen, however I cannot imagine a scenario where this would work. Now with remote devices able to watch different channels at the same time, this could happen more than you would have expected. The priority on all tuners is set at AUTO.
  • The configuration that I have mentioned above works perfectly with ViX.
As for installing new drivers, I was under the impression that by doing a clean install of BH they would be installed automatically. If this is not correct what should I do in order to update the drivers? Does installing the BH by the USB key not install everything?

Thank you all for your help.

My test with three tuners
one dual Tuner and one single Tuner with a standard LNB and Motor/usuals
works seamlessly with one cable on the A tuner-B (dual tuner)
and the other connected to C tuner.

A tuners is always a major Tuner .

Unfortunately I have to be corrected

I also think it is BUG (tuner priority BUG),
present
when switching from one satellite to another

I think that the VU+ should be informed
in my case, C becomes the main tuner
And Tuner A is not in use.

Probably in the VIX can you put the tuner priority ???
which corrects this bug.
But it is a BUG
