Black Hole starting gui .....

Hi guys .. quick intro ... got rid of freeview and now going the Vu+ / Black Hole (v 2.0.8.1) direction.

Anyhow, got the box delivered and on start up i get the above:
Black Hole starting gui .....
and it just hangs there
I can access the menu from the remote and select channels (altho satellite signal isn't set up, awaiting new dish) etc but the above is a little irritating.
Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated.

that is normal. just apply setting and install your dish. then you can watch the picture instead of " Black Hole starting ..".

hi everyone, i am a newby with a Vu+ Duo, a friend of mine put Black Hole on it but it is telling me a file is missing, so now i have no picture. i would prefer to do it myself this time but not sure about it. where do i get the image and should i restore to factory before i flash it?, any help would be appreciated.

New dish, new lnb (even new cable), still no channels
Screen still showing Black Hole ... starting gui
Satellite finder Tuner A: SNR 0% , AGC 41%, BER 0
Tuner B: SNR 18 - 45% (flickering very quickly) AGC, 99%, BER 0
i am only using 1 LNB ...

Completely clueless as to what to do ..
Is there a walk thru anywhere for tuner config, auto / manual scan ??

Getting pissed off now !!!

Configuration Mode simple
Mode single
Satellite your chosen one
Send DISEqC no

same config for both tuners
then you can auto scan for channels

Satfinder: the same as above
Satellite finder Tuner A: SNR 0% , AGC 41%, BER 0

why have i got Tuner A & B ? can someone explain ?
Service scan : 0 services found !
No default service list ???

tuner a & tuner b are to allow you watch one program while you record another, as you have a static dish. check that all satellite cables are secure and your Satellite dish is alligned to bird of your choice,ie astra, horbird, etc, no default service list, is the box asking you do you have a channel list uploaded that you want to i nstall , when configuring tuners make sure you have , the bird you wish to tunr to selected in satellite section, then do automatic scan. If yoursatellite dish isn't alligned to sat you're trying to tune you will get 0 services found message

The problem was the dish was slightly out.
Now got hundreds of channels but only in alphabeticalorder ...
How do i load and use the rytech Sky epg ?

menu>Epg Panel press red button to configure epg setup to your requirements then red again to save, select a provider from the list, then press green button thenn red buttonagain to configure provider settings, if you are saving epg data to usb you need to mount usb /media/usb. personally i use the crossepg
also in the image, downloads far quicker, also enables you to force epg reloadquickly if for any reason you lose your channel info

If you want them in a decent order create or download a bouquet list. Autobouquet maker will do it for you if you install it.... Its available from plugins off this site

I need some help on this too please!
I am having the same problem after I accidentally cleared all the stations (and there is no back-up). With regards to "and your Satellite dish is alligned to bird of your choice,ie astra, horbird, etc" - someone else initially set it all up and so I don't know which one it is. Is there a way of finding out which satellite to scan as the scans are always coming up with 0 results. (The channels that were on previously consisted of Tukish & Greek channels like Alfa, Alpha, 4E, Sky, Omega, Kanal etc). Thanking you.

Do you have a fixed dish, or motorized dish, system?
Can you remember anything else, regarding the channels, you were receiving, as many appear on several satellites?
Can you take any pictures, of your dish, LNB, and upload them?
You first need to set up your Tuner, in the menu, Setup, Service Searching, Tuner, and try simple, mode = single, select satellite 9E, then try scanning. If you still get nothing try 13E, then 16E, 39E, 3E.
If you have a Diseqc switch installed, for multiple LNB's, then this will not work.
Can you please provide more information, about your dish, if photos aren't possible then please check if your dish has more than one LNB, if it has a motor, that moves the dish, or if you have more than one satellite dish, connected to your receiver.

Thanks Mick12334 - I will check thiis all out tomorrow as it's my mom's system at her house and I will find out some more information for you. I will also try those satellites that you mentioned above (fingers crossed!)

Find catseye enigma 2 motor settings use dreamedit to sent them to your box and then look for channels u need as there will be everything available for you
