Recording doesen't seem to work, reflashing to fix ?

I was so close, flashed with BH2.1.1, got EPG to work, set up network (I think) and then tried recording but two things happened. Recording is to internal HDD.
First I had a messsage saying switching channel as recording starting and then nothing recorded.

I think I know what the first one is, I set up LNB-A as Single and B to loop through to it, I should have used advanced (now I remember) so I think it is only working on one input. So I assume when both are working that shouldn't happen.
I tried changing to advanced but just crashes BH then resets as normal, so I will just start again as not difficult, I haven't set up anything I need to keep so can just nuke the lot.

On the not recording bit is there something I need to select or should it just do it. I press the 'recording list' button but there is nothing there. I made sure I was on the same channel I was recording but still nothing.
Maybe setting up the two LNB inputs will solve it but any thoughts on why it wouldn't work will help.

Will reflash tomorrow and see what happens.

Just tried again and it says it worked but nowhere on the HDD, I set up a Movie folder but no luck.

I will try the Tuner B then A but think I will have to do this all again :( oh no, as retuning just crashes BH. Should this happen or should I be able to reconfigure them ?
No used to the reverse alphabet approach :) normally A is mani and B is second.
The user guide is very bad on this bit, it just says A should be set (not true with BH flash) and no mention of B. There is a blurry photo of the screen but too bad to be legible.

What should I set the tuner B then A to to make it work ? If I have to reflash again I really want to be sure all is correct this time.

Recording should be a basic thing, whole point of a PVR, and I didn't think it would be so tricky.
Is there a definitive list of what to do to make it work ? Such as set tuners to this, set up folder of this, etc etc. All a bit vague at the moment, says it worked but didn't, or if it did it hid the output.

Just found the HDD isn't 'initalised'. I can do it but it will lose all my data, including the favourites/bouguet folder.
Would that be crossepg folder ? so if I save it and copy it back my bouguets will be reinstated ?

I assume the lack of HDD is the problem as because not initialised (I did it with Enigma image) for BH it just threw the recordings away but didn't mention that.

I decided to copy out what files I could from the HDD and initialise it anyway, on the basis of it couldn't be worse then not recording.
Despite not knowing what 'erasing all data' meant it must have meant only saved movies etc because my favourites are still intact. Interestingly that means initialising is not formatting, format would have lost all data so initialising must be setting up a recording area ?
So I have something recording as we speak, happy days.

Hi, I am new here and have a Solo 2 with 500GB HDD installed internally, and I too seem to have the same or similar issue.

My two tuners have good signal on both but when I arrange a future recording it is hit and miss on recording. Sometimes it records, sometimes its listed but duration is 00:00 and doesnt play. Sometimes on these files, it states NO DATA ON TRANSPONDER. However live feed is fine. If it does record, 9/10 it will record it with poor quality/choppy/pixelated, again live feed is fine. Is this to do with the HDD?

I am new myself but mine is recording ok now that the HDD is initialised, before it was ok and could be seen by the system but nothing recorded at all, not evene a 00 length recording. I am guessing this is not the same problem I had.
My HDD is a western digital 500gb AV drive and seems fine, maybe re initialising yours may help ? You will lose any recordings though, although when I initialised my EPG and favourites were not deleted.
Only other thought is to record to an external HDD via usb, if you don't have one maybe you could borrow one, and see if all ok just to test if internal HDD problem.

Hello, hoping someone can help, sorry to hijack post? Just set up my VU+ Duo2 with a 2TB Hard drive. All working fine, HD initialised, recording fine, playing back fine etc, but whats strange is, if I go to transfer a movie say I've downloaded over my network, I click on VUplus2, Hard Drive, and find Movie Folder, BUT the folder Icon is not properly displayed, It's white, it's called Movie but if I click on it nothing shows up even though I have done recordings and watched recordings. If I try to copy over a movie from my laptop it will not give me a paste option like i used to do with my old Vu+ Duo. I tried taking out the hard drive again and formatting, put back in and initialised again but same happens, Movie folder is white and showing empty when I't not etc. Do I have to re flash the box and reset up from scratch or is there something easier I could do? Thanks, any advise welcome....Newbie :)

Update on my problem: Have tried deleting the file "Movie" on the Vu Hard drive but it just pops back again and don't have permissions to change it seemingly. Or is there a way to make a new file and direct the Box to save it there instead? I can make new folders on the box. Thanks for any help.
