System space availability

Prior to moving all my stuff from BH to OBH, I'd like to know how much memory it will have my new BH image under OBH new system.

In the past, using Meoboot under regualr BH flash image was an option in order to increase system memory availability (http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/howto-extend-flash-in-bh-images.8187/) and I assume it will be the same under Multiboot OBH. Is it this assumption correct ?

If (e.g.) I have 8GB of flash USB space all dedicated to Multiboot OBH, how much "flash" available space I will see from any flash inside it (blue button, then yellow buton) ? Close to 8 G ?

Thanks

8 Gb ( Usb Pen Drive ), this is a lot of space, to handle Images on Multiboot ... Your STB flash memory don´t fill up, because there´s not mixed kernels ( this is the principal difference between Open Multiboot and Multiboot ).
In my particular case i own a duo2, in the same pen drive, it handles Multiboot Images, picons, Epg dat files, Lcd4Linux elements, backup from flash image etc...

8Gb is more than sufficient to handle the images you want.

Uhm...ok..I will partition the USB pen and set up lower space (2 or 3 GB maximum).
STB flash will remain strictly to the amount off OBH initial setup, good. Therefore kernels and other stuff from different images will be hosted into USB space. Very good. Thanks again.

You can have picons and Open Multiboot on the same partition ... you don´t need that ... /media/usb .... where:

/media/usb ->

| /media/usb/openmultiboot
| /media/usb/openmultibootUpload
| /media/usb/picons

This is just an example,
You just need to partition that, if you intend to use different volumes labels or different file systems ( example )

/media/usb (EXT4, for Open Multiboot, picons, etc.. )
/media/hdd ( Other FS )

All in the same usb pen drive.

Question: where does regualr BH would be placed under OBH Multiboot scenario ? Under /media/usb/openmultiboot directory, or could I choose a different one ? Just to understand if I’d prefer more partition(s) or giving great space to primary partition (the /media/usb in the above example)
thanks again !

The zip file of the image must be uploaded with an FTP tool to /media/usb/openmultibootupload -> take a look if you doughts all follow the steps -> http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/how-to-use-open-multiboot-on-open-black-hole.23270/

You just have to format your usb pen drive insider your STB ... and mounting it ...
When the system asks you to reboot for mounting do it...

Upon reboot and mounted ( as /media/usb, you can check it on devices manager ), go to plugins.

Choose Open Multiboot --> The folders

/media/usb/openmultiboot and
/media/usb/openmultibootUpload should be created automatically for you

Use an FTP tool ( DCC, VUCC or Filezilla ), to upload your image to /media/usb/openmultiboot upload....

Uploaded the image Open Multiboot plugin on >Menu>Plugins>Open Multiboo> and install it.

Using one or more partitions it´s at yours consignation.

All this is referred in the Guide ... LINK UP
