Can anyone help here

I have a USALS motorised dish and a single dish pointing at 28.2E

in my setup there is Tuner A & Tuner B

I used to have everything working right but now I am having troble with certain channels going to 0% etc.. mainly on HD channels.

Can someone advise what the best way of placing the cables and the relevant settings in satellite setup.

it would be much appreciated. I do not want to get a satellite engineer out to look a the dish if it is a settings issue.

thanks

tried new images, channel lists etc..

i think when i disconnected my box and then after flashing set my satellite settings back up how i thought i had them but i never really noticed any issue until i started to get things i recorded not working due to no signal and generally it was more often or not a HD channel.

my tuner B is the fixed dish and when on this tuner the HD channels are fine but when i have set a timer and it uses tuner B for BBC1 SD when it goes to record something on ITV Granada HD on Tuner A it has signal issues.

just wanted to get an understanding from someone who has a similar setup VU+ solo2 and a fixed dish and motorsied dish for each input.

thanks

I have nearly the same configs on my set up.Tuner A is my motorised dish but I use advanced to tune the satellites that I use and tuner B is my fixed dish set as simple/single/28.2/send diseqc-no.I never have any issues with recording.

cheers Robocop

it must be a dish problem.

i have just tried my motorized dish setup a Tuner A simple positioner and set tuner B to not configures.

now i am basically gettings no channels on BBC all regions and no HD channels no ITV etc... and the list goes on.

Guys what i forgot to mention is for every channel that say tuner failed if i press into menu and soto inforamtion service and press the blue button for tuner status i notice the channel frequency channel about 5-7 for example 11127 V changes to 11120 V then the picture appears. this works every time.

i used to have no issue using catseyes list usually OK. and also when its just using the fixed dish the channels are ok.

can i have stored positions in my motor or something (just thinking of anything) if so can they be cleared ie motor hard reset (without getting to the motor as it is on my chimney stack hence why i have not changed anything up there as i have no ladders and not to good with heights).

I am now in the middle of trying a blind search on 28.2E only with just the motorized dish pointing at 28.2E

i previously tried doing a manual scan of 28.2E but it only picked up 420 channels, no BBC or ITV channels to be seen in the result list.

cheers for helping

everything is fine.

right the manual scan completed as above and for 420 channels sky etc....

just completed the blind scan and almost reversal, now found 399 channels but have got most regioanl BBC and ITV but now no Sky channels.

this is f**king weird.

if you can't see itv and bbc after manual scan I'd say that @Robocop1967 is right - it seems like lnb problem (both itv and bbc are broadcasting using low frequency band 10.7-11.7). Just check your scanned channels with one of the websites providing full transponders broadcast list (kingofsat or lyngsat) and you'll see if only high band channels were found during manual scan. You can also swap tuners over - use tuner B with motorised dish plugged in to - and perform manual scan to eliminate tuner fault.

Thanks for the reply.

I have ordered a new LNB but before I call a sat guy out.

can anyone explain the reason why going in to tuner status changed the frequency of the channel not working by a few hertz and the the channel works.

Obviously I can do this when tuner B is busy recording (off fixed dish) but when setting multiple timers is screws everything up.

thanks again

@darian23

hi buddy just checked my channels that have been found following another scan on 28.2 using tuner A (motor) and again only 400ish cahnnels.

i did what you said and checked lyngsat on the first transponder 10714v and all the channel are there, however going on from that one upwards until i get to 11264v which when i check the box after pressing ok twice the frequency reads 11265v.

i'm assuming after what you said earlier this is the LNB.

damn if i could get to it i would just change it myself as i have the new one but i have not ladders. aghhhh

thanks

11264 V and 11265 V are identical, and doesn't indicate any problem with your LNB.
If you check different sites, like Lyngsat, and kingofsat, you will find some quoting 11264v and others 11265 V.

Check your signal quality readings, for several channels, of both polarity, vertical, and horizontal, on the different satellites, at 28.2e, astra 2E, astra 2F, and astra 2G, both SD and HD, for both your fixed, and motorized, dish.
Code:
http://www.lyngsat.com/europe.html

Do not use blind scan but instead use the manual scan option, to locate the channels.

hi mick thanks for your reply.

following doing a manual scan of the whole 28.2 transponder, i tried to scan frequencies from 10729V, 10744H and 10758V but nothing found but on 10714H it found the 9 channels listed on Lyngsat. it does not find channles on amy frequecies between 10714H and 11264V

thanks for all the replies. really appreciated. just wish i could get to my dish and change out the LNB.

You have 2 dishes, according to your first post, one fixed, on 28.2e, and the other motorized. which dish are you using?
What are your signal quality readings, on 10724 H 22000?
Did you change to DVB-S2, and 23000, for 10744 H?

Mick

I have run scans on my fixed dish and it finds everything.

On my motor dish I get 0% signal on everything except the first transponder on 28.2e upto 11264V.

if I run the scan on the fixes dish or a preselected channel list when fixed dish is being used for a timer the motorised tuner if wanting to watch itv bbc channels and low transponders get 0% signal and my recordings become screwed up.

thanks again

What about other satellites, on your motorized dish?
What are the signal quality readings on your motorized dish?
It might be as simple as incorrect usals settings.

If you don't post the signal quality readings then we'll never know.

I suspect you haven't entered your latitude, and especially your longitude, correctly, so the motor/dish isn't aligning correctly.
Remember negative Longitude readings = West, positive = East

mick noting to post with regards to signal like i say the channels that are not working are at 0% nothing showing at all. unless i go into menu and servicess then hitting tuner status (Blue Button)

with regards to Lang & Lat yeha been entering the same for years as i have only moved once since i have had the system and it barely changed 2.***west and 53.334 north

First you stated you only had problems mainly with HD channels, now you state that you aren't getting any channels.
Is your motorized dish moving, when you change satellites?
Are you picking up anything, on the motorized dish?
