I'm looking to buy asap the Ultimo 4K, the only reason i still not ordered is because i just want to upgrade to a STB who allows me to have 2x stream clients simultaneously acessing 2x transcoded channels.
Will it be possible with this image and hardware?

Many thanks for your orientation.

I suppose from the lack of answers, nome of the actual images will allow me to make a dual Transcoding from a Ultimo 4K using OpenWebIf or other plugging.
Maybe, before buying, i would also wait for any positive answer from any user of this model.
Cheers.

Even if I'm totally uninterested at the subject, because I've always had the need of just one streaming at the time, I was curious to try something by my Solo4K. So this is what I tried:
1) I opened a (transcoded) stream by OWIF and it obviously opened a VLC session.
2) I launched iDreamX, a software for OsX similar to Dreambox, and I launched a second stream (again transcoded, too) and it opened a second occurrence of VLC streaming the second chosen channel.
3) I used an app for iOs, similar to VU+Player HD, and it opened the 3rd (transcoded) stream.
4) I then opened another session of VLC by OsX Terminal and I was able to open a .m3u file produced by tuner server and stored in my computer.
5) I opened a 5th session of VLC by Terminal as in step 4 (another transcoded stream).
Then I stopped but I don't see why I might not go on...

So, I'm playing 5 streams in different ways, 5 by VLC in my computer, another one by the iOs app, all of them transcoded. Should I conclude it's not a matter related to the Ultimo4K only? I'll let you to take your conclusions, as I don't need so many streams. ;)
Notice that I have an SCR LNB, a Universal LNB (and three other terrestrial tuner, but they were not involved in this try).
I had not the chance to check for the used tuners by the GUI because I'm under the blanket with a terrible flu, at the moment!

Thanks Alexwilmac!
Looks like a really strange behavior for a dual core as your Solo 4K. Transcoding by software will require a lot of CPU...
I try myself this on my old Duo2 and as i was expecting - i can stream my 2nd transcoding for a second or two and than the sub just drops the second stream because it's not capable to handled it.

Are you really transcoding or just streaming from your Solo 4K?

The channels were all encoded and I used the "stream transcoded" but, I don't know why, it also works if I choose normal stream. It has been always so.

Is this behavior only for the 4K models?
I try it again on my Duo2, and as i mention before: First transcoded stream works and when i start a second transcoded stream the first one is dropped/stopped by the stb.

I have the same behaviour on UNO4k. When I start second transcoding stream, the first one drops.
Any thoughts?

Because it depends on how you transcode: if it's done by a smartcam, they cannot decrypt more than one channel at the time. So, either by streaming or by watching+recording, you won't be able to do these actions at the same time.
