There was another sound glitch when watching satellite channels (SD or HD). It is evident when you set the video output as 2K. At some time the sound starts mute itself periodically for 0.5 seconds every 15 seconds or so. Once it starts, it continues on all channels until shutdown. I look only 1 channel on universal LNB and do not do other things, so it is simple single-process watching TV.
I think that this receiver is not powerful enough for 4K.
Or the firmware is buggy. This was on 3.0.5, this continues on 3.0.6.
Workaround: switch to Full HD (1080P). This is shame to downscale the signal between 4K receiver and 4K TV!
Or maybe the cable was damaged in some way, there are good and bad quality HDMI cables but performance is not very different from a £5 cable to a £25 cable. In the past with scart or YPbPr you got big improvements with cable quality and cost but no longer the case.Possible solution: I have bought a 4K HDMI cable. Since then i cannot reproduce the glitch. Maybe this was low quality HDMI cable?
Blackhole is not the best image for media playback, it is restricted by what codec's vu+ support in there git.
Blackhole is good for just watching satellite tv.
If you want the best media playback, then you are better off using the OBH image (that is why we created it).
There are 2 images for a reason, we didn't do it just because we could.
If both images did exactly the same thing, then we would only need 1 image.
OBH has quad pipI installed OBH 4.2 and I have to say that I like it very much. It offers a lot more customizable features and the channel list behave indeed as I like.
The only thing I miss for the moment is the quad PIP... May be it will be implemented in the future.
Another point I have notice is that when you change some user interface parameters, they don't apply immediatly and you have to restart the GUI (called Enigma 2 in OBH) to see the changes.
Thanks again.
it should be well hidden then... I don't see it in any menu ?OBH has quad pip
It's on the feeds, under systempluginsit should be well hidden then... I don't see it in any menu ?
