Vu+ Duo hardware issue

Hello to all.
I have a issue in my Vu+Duo box and I need help.
The box takes to long to start or restart, and sometimes don't even restarts witn nothing happening on VFD screen. The box can record but when I go to playback, it takes about 3/4 seconds and then the box crash without green screen and crash logs, just everything on box turn black with no connetion to TV.
I can't do fast zapping because the box crash to.
I guess it's a hardware issue and not a software issue because I already did a full flash and the issue keep on it.
What you think about it?
Thanks for your help in advance.

What image do you use? For instance, if you use the last BH308, even if it now supports again your model and other old ones, it's not recommended to install it in flash. It's better to install in flash a much lighter image like OBH and, in case you absolutely want BH, install and run it from omb.
But my personal advice is to try OBH because has got many advantages compared to BH.
And check also how much ram free you have.

Thank you for your reply.
I use a old image just for that reason, I don't remember which one but it worked before with no problem at all with ram enough.
I guess it's a hardware issue.

I had this years ago with a Duo and it was a hardware issue, the problem is it is not worth spending out for a repair unless you can tackle it yourself.

Anyway, you can create a FullBackup (just to get back to your current situation) and try OBH, for instance.
When there's a suspect of hw issues, you must anyway to be sure you can exclude the sw ones before going on and decide what to do.

Your box had the same issue as mine? Did you know what hardware component was failing?
If the problem it's just in a condenser like the C807 (which I already changed) I guess it worth repair because it's cheap to do it.

Thanks but unfortunately I'm pretty sure it's a hw issue.

Like you I replaced capacitors but it made difference, I gave up in the end which is a shame because mine was a special addition LE

Me too... but, after all, it's for free and it's a matter of 10 minutes Afterwards, if you don't want to change some capacitors to risk to have no results, like it happened to Artorius, you'll be 100% sure... ;)

I think the issue it's in the PSU, maybe in some capacitors, because the fan doesn't work when I start the box.

Hello,
The four PSU capacitors, C-814, C-815, C-823 and C-825, must be 1500mF-10V-105°C or can be 1500mF-30V?

Attention
When replacing electrolytic condensers, note the condenser polarity.

An important

parameter of capacitor is the ESR

The lower the ESR, the higher the ripple current per volume and better functionality of the capacitor in the circuit. However, better electrical parameters come with higher prices.

When a defective electrolytic condenser is visible, there is a deformation of the housing.
Inflated housing, especially top.
Always check the visual condition of the electrolyte during a fault.
Sometimes they can and leak or even explode.

Because the temperature in the device comes to the deterioration of the electrolyte which causes an increase in the ESR.(in most cases it is not visible)
Unfortunately, this can only be measured with a special ESR instrument.

I already did a visual check but nothing notable, but when I changed the C807 capacitator on board, nothing was notable too.
