solo 2 trash!

Ok I'm back with a useless box again! Got it all running after your help, not set up to my liking but at least I could watch channels, record etc. I went away for a few weeks and all channels disappeared while my girlfriend was using it. She managed to get them back after a couple of days playing but the remote is very dodgy! You have to switch the box on with front button and if you want to change anything you have to move up or down then back to where you were, then change! I did a power off then back on yesterday to see if it would clear, but now no channels! I've down auto search so many times now and it can't find channels but the signal is good 95%when I check the satfinder. I'm ready to throw it in the bin now! Vu solo 2 on single lnb to tuner b.
Any advice please.

Lets see what we can do :)
But first lets get some info.

1. Image and Image version

2. Do you have HDD internal

3. Do you have USB MemoryStick mounted.

4. What satellite are you using

5. Why tuner B and Not A connected?

6 Maybe take some screenshots with OpenWebIF of your Tuner Settings?

HDD yes
No usb
Tuner b as the instructions said use b if only one input.
Pics below of info.

Thanks

Your signal isn't 95%, your signal quality is 59%:
SNR = Signal to Noise Ratio - which equates to signal quality
AGC = Automatic Gain Control

I've also noticed that your signal lock is red, with a cross, not green, with a tick.
I assume that you have a fixed dish, on Astra 2, 28.2E, if so try adjusting it and check your LNB skew, rotation of LNB.

Low signal quality could also be due to damaged, old, cabling, or failing LNB.

Yes this nice with screenshoots and as Mick12334 is saying yor signal quality is to low so check cables and your antenna
Try and tune so you get as close to 100 as possible if its the antenna

You can download Vu+Player app to your smartphone from AppStore for IPhone/Pad
Or Google Playstore for Android Phone or tablet.
Use Local WiFi and you can see the satfinder in the app when tuning antenna :)

Thanks guys, need to get my eyes checked! Had a look at dish and the arm has rusted through so obviously moved off track! Need to get that sorted first.
Cheers

It doesn't explain the glitchy remote though!
I have a lot to learn with the solo. Got myself a twin lnb so that will go up with new dish and use both tuners..

Those birds!
Get one of these and protect your new dish. ;)

Accully it does explain the remote when signal is weak
the box get very overloaded so then you might experince
a dodgy remote also ;)

Oh ok, thanks for that.
Just put new sat up, went to satfinder and I was getting a bigger signal (snr) before I connected the cable than I did after! What's that all about?
I checked the voltage to lnb, 0.08v! So checked at back of vu+ box, the same, 0.08v, surely that's not enough to to power the lnb, thought it should be 13v?
Given up for tonight, cold windy and wet.

13v and 18v are when you switch polarity, 13v Vertical, 18v Horizontal.
Get a cheap satellite meter, they can be gotten for around £7, and are available from DIY shops, or the internet.

Also check that you haven't lost all your braiding, from the cable connection, this has happened to me when the F Connector was too tight and I forced it on.
