DVB-S2X not Shown...

I installed the latest version of the openblackhole image into my vu duo 4k but there are no manual scan option for dvbs2x...

I thought the receiver was capable of dvbs2x...

Do I need a plugin or driver to enable this?

Have you set the tuner up correctly?
Please post a screen shot of your tuner settings, and have a look in the advanced options.

I think he's the 10000th case of a person who mistakes the DVB-S2X for multistream and, as each of the other 9999 people, he's not searched the Internet to find out that they are two different things.
Am I right, gregom? ;)

As you have the same DVB-S2X tuner, look at this with this satellite and channel.
You will see that they look very good.

Como tienes los mismos tuner DVB-S2X mira que tal con este satelite y canal.
Veras que se ven muy bien.
En español para mi.

Seems to be pretty common for members of this forum to treat other people like they are idiots. A simple question was asked, so it can be answered simple. Gregom is located in North America.

DVB-S2X is an extension of DVB-S2. DVB-S2X is not defined in Linux TV, so it is also not defined in OE Alliance and OpenPLi images. Tuners capable of receiving DVB-S2X transponders will show as DVB-S2 when using OE Alliance and OpenPLi images. Do not expect this to change until DVB-S2X is properly defined in Linux TV.

No, dear: the NETIQUETTE of every forums in the world requires to search for answers before posting, to avoid to have the same question again and again and again. Netiquette.

Good!
How about showing him and me where this question has been answered before on this forum instead of going on a tirade about multistream?

Guys... Easy there...

I am not taking about ACM multistream... I just want to select dvbs2x and select different FEC...

I am aware the the duo 4k can't do multistream until they sort this driver issue that I hope will be there someday...

All I want for now is to have the ability to scan dvbs2x not ACM dvbs2x....

How come this option is not available? With different rolls offs ?

As I seen on the screen it shows dvbs2 ... I had no idea the image did not differentiate between the two modulation types...

I will give that a try...

How Much I Know you can Change DVB-S2 System in the DVB-S2X (Left-Right Button)
Manual scan
I'm currently on Black Hole image ,but i think is same Open Black Hole.

@ Gregom, It is set to auto-detect the fec , rolloff...etc. Most of the newer tuners are capable of that. So tune a DVB-S2X transponder using DVB-S2, and set Fec and other settings to auto.

VU+ added the DVB-S2X to their image. BlackHole is a version of the Vu+ image. OE Alliance and OpenPli have not done that because it is not in Linux TV. There is no DVB-S2X setting in OE Alliance or PLi at this time.

In case you don't know, is much more effective (instead of taking pictures of the screen) to grab what you need to attach by typing in a browser the IP address of your VU+ followed by /grab. For instance
192.168.1.100/grab
Then you save the picture and you can use it as attachment.

As the default indicates @el bandido , in OE Alliance and others it is not implemented, but the tuner finds the channels without many problems DVB-S2X.
In the picture that I put of the VU + Ultimo4K with this tuner, it is identified as DVB-S2 and it finds the test channel in Eutelsat 33A, since you are not in Europe as the bandit comments, little more, you will have to comment on which satellites you have on hand and look in the web (Flysat?) if they have some test tp, luck.
.
The change of chip results, apart from tuning DVB-S2X, almost 3% more signal and most importantly, a 10% improvement in quality.
Very useful for very interfering signals of very powerful adjacent channels, veridicado with Astra channels at 28ºEste between channels of the UK beam and those of the European beam arriving through Madrid with almost 3 times more power.
-------

Thanks...

Great explanation...

If I wanted to scan a dvbs2 16 or 32 apsk... Does the vu support that?

I am not able to scan those channels with the duo 4k... However the octagon Sf4008 scans without issues...

On the other hand, there is no such add-on that should be on the giant machine VUPLUS DUO4K thanksssss

You talk about two different things.
MIS (stream channels)
and S2X ,16 or 32 apsk...
It's not the same thing.

So issues related to MIS have nothing to do with issues in this topic
about modulation and S2X

I can add menu modulation entries for 64, 128, and 256 APSK, but they will not work unless the tuner supports them. Vu+ does not care to show what the tuners are capable of or really any tuner specs. Anyway, I think it has been proven that FBC tuners in Vu+ receivers are not capable of 16 or 32 APSK modulation types. Good subscription box. Not so good for fta.

I totally agree with you el bandido... Such a shame to have a powerful processor with a mediocre tuner...

How can in this time vu have not installed a better tunner... I would have paid extra for sure...

I also don't get why vu don't post the technical details on their products...

Nways... Let's hope they at least make a tuner capable of dvbs2x multistream plus dvbs2 16/32 apsk.

Currently this FBC tuner is not any different than any other very basic FBC tuner...
