CrossEPG with custom XMLTV

Hi,

I have managed to create my own custom XMLTV file and intend to import it using CrossEPG on top on my other sources from the sat and internet. I have tried adding it to the automatic update list as it is working now but when I do this, checking the log, I have an error and it doesn't update.

Updating manually seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm using the latest CrossEPG running BH2.1.7.

Did you ever get this to work @gogglebox ? I have no EPG as Rytec doesn't support New Zealand, however there are some folks who generate the TVXML files for other installations locally and they will let me grab these. I could happily set up a cron job to pull them down to my local machine but I can't find any way to manually (or automatically get them processed once i have them)

Having spent a couple of weeks getting BH (almost) working, I'm reluctant to start again using Vix or OBH

For custom xmltv files i would recommend EPG Importer instead of CrossEPG.
CrossEPG can only handle external sources. But EPG Importer can also handle local sources like in your case where you are going to store the source local


I have attached a custom source for you to test with EPG Importer.

Extract the zip file and use ftp to copy to your /etc/epgimporter folder
Restart Enigma2 and open EPG Importer by pressing Green Button
scroll down and find plugin. Then press blue button and find the customsource in the bottom.
Press OK to open and OK again to chose then press Yellow button to manual download epg

With my test i got about 2600 events but your Sat is around the other side of the world so cant test if its working

EPG Importer plugin can be found in the addons feed through the GreenPanel of your BH image.

@Thomas67 Willy from Rytek gave me some really helpful advice and it's now working to NZ Freeview and works well with EPG Importer

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier! I’m glad you got it sorted. I ended up settling up a local external server to get it working automatically.
