Zero signal upon switching!

Hallo guys,

My problem has been reported before. I read all the discussions I found, but still I cant solve it.

My new Vu Uno 4K Se (from Amazon) with the latest BH image (3.0.9)
When I switch channels, I get SNR 0% (or N/A) for a few moments. Very annoying indeed.
I have 4 LNBs on a fixed dish connected via a DiseqC switch.

I tried all possible tuner configurations (A simple and advanced with B not configured/equal to A/loop through A). I did the same with Tuner B.
I tested new cable.
Tested a new cable with only 1 new LNB (no DiseqC switch).
Did the tests with FCC mode on and off.

All my tests failed to solve this annoying problem.
Same problem with OBH as well.

Same setup works perfectly on my old Vu Solo2 (running also latest BH).

Any suggestions before returning the box?

Thanks in advance

Your two receivers have completely different CPU sets, Uno 4K SE, ARM, Solo 2, MIPS, as well as different tuners, I'd try connecting your LNB directly to your receiver, and see if the problem goes away, before contacting your seller.
If this solves the problem then try a newer Diseqc switch.

Had the same Issue...its the Diswqc Switch.

Thanks for the replies.
I am aware of the hardware differences between the boxes, but I still see the behaviour strange for such a box with the latest tuner/CPU technologies.

I tested one lnb connected directly to the receiver (no DiesqC) and changed tuner settings to simple (one sat only). I used also a new coaxial cable.

The situation improved I must say, but didn't disappear. The problem is still there.

I read about satellites.xml file and downloaded a couple but they didn't help.
One favor please, could someone upload a satellites.xml file that works fine on his 4k box. Just to exclude the satellites.xml issue.

thanks.

Back again,
I tested the Satellites.xml file (Rescan + clear before scan).
The situation improved a bit but not resolved.
I ordered overnight a new DiseqC switch (4x1) (BEST brand on Amazon).
The new DiseqC and a new coaxial cable gave me no improvement.
This is my first experience with FBC tuners, so my "usual" DiseqC settings may not be the best. I attached the settings of 1 LNB. Please have a look. The rest of LNBs are essentially the same (only difference is the committed command).
I have the 4 LNBs in advanced mode in Tuner A, tuner B is looped through tuner A.
I tried simple mode with DiseqC A/B/C,/D but the problem got worse!!

Your suggestions are welcome :)

Have U tried an Clean Image installation ?
If all the tries failed take the STB to the dealer U bought it from, may be its a factory issue.

I see we are at the same satellite you and me :)

You have fbc tuners but i guess since you have 4 lnb in your satdish they are regular LNBs and not Unicable/SatCR?
If one of the LNBs are new type UniCable/SatCR you could experince this problem.

You have a very strange setup my friend. I would connect all LNBs to the diseq and connect them to my tuner A
If they are multi LNBs then you need a simular setup with a new cabel from diseq 2 to tuner b.

But if you have an UniCabel/SatCR lnb and 3 regular. then you need a new cabel all the way into your STB from the new lnb and leave the others in the diseq.

This is how i setup my UniCabel/SatCR from Canaldigital Norway and regular lnbs

Tuner A Unicabel attached and Tuner B Attached to diseq 2 separate cabels in to the house

Thanks guys,
I fresh installed BH and OBH images a couple of times (on the flash) but this didn't affect the problem.
I have 4 universal LNBs (no unicable).
I have now the 4 LNBs in advanced mode to tuner A and tuner B in loop mode to tuner A. (DiseqC settings in the screenshot above).

After studying the pattern of the problem, I noticed that the problem is irregular. Sometimes everything is ok and other times it is very annoying. It happens when jumping from sat to sat or when changing polarity (H and V) within the same sat!!.
Should I suspect my 4 LNBs?

I tried without the loop but no change.
Seems that tuner configuration is not the problem.
I am thinking of replacing my 6 years old LNBs.
I read a post by our friend Matrix that FBC tuners are technically different and needs modern LNBs.

Any suggestion on LNB brands that work smoothly on FBC tuners? I am a fan of Inverto black ultra but I am open to your suggestions :)

Thanks

Have you tried something like this?

Note: The Diseqc ports [ A, B, C and D ] must be configured according your SAT lnb´s. This is just an example for UNIVERSAL LNB´S with diseqc 4x1. If you set the wrong input, you´ll get "no signal".

I tried all possible tuner configurations. Some are better than others but none eliminates the problem!

Seems I should change the LNBs.

I completely doubt that all LNBs are a problem.
The problem goes more towards the diseqc switch.
But you say you tried a new LNB and a new cable without diseqc switch.
And that the problem remained.

If a problem is present with a new cable and only one LNB ,In this case the only cause can be a receiver.

Back again with the final tests
I bought new LNBs, cables and Diseqc switch.
No change. The problem is the same as when I try my stuff.
Connecting single new lnb directly to the receiver didn't improve the situation.

As I mentioned before, the problem appears and disappears for no reason at all.
Signals are >75 % in most of the cases.

So, as Matrix concluded, it the box itself.
