New Vu uno 4K--Help

Vu+ Newbie
Hi..
I am very new with enigma STB, previously using non linux/enigma such as freesat box V8.
Couple weeks ago I bought Vu Uno 4K and the current image installed is BH.
Tried to set up the STB with 4LNBs on fixed antenna. I used advanced tunner A setting, 4 LNB for 4 sattelites. Using disecq 1.0 AA, AB, BA and BB as showed on the attached file as sample setting LNB no 2.
I let the other tuners left not configured.
The sattelite very easy captured and locked on the non enigma STB, however the signal I got on Vu+ very low and could not used for scanning the services (FTA).
I am in indonesia and the sattelite tried to get 108.2 Telkom, 113.0 Palapa D and others around such as asiat 7 and chinasat 5.
Could somebody help me please...
I already tried some tutorials on youtube and none of them successful .
If there is file needs to be download first, please let me know.
Thanks

First of trying to help, someway, I must say I've never tuned ku-band or C-Band satellites.
But my advice is to begin not with the "advanced mode" in tuner configuration: try the "simple", obviously choosing DiseqC A/B/C/D option because is more guided.
See what happens.

Thanks Alex..
The simple configuration has been selected at the first place and it failed, a second after hit manual searching then the dialog box "searching done and 0 service found appears".
Actually by using advance mode, I ever got partially good signal and some services captured. However, it just stand for few hours, some how sattelite signal became very weaks. Tried to replace some connectors and recondition the cable connections, still not working. Am I did something wrong which could lead to this failure?

Have you tried to test with the only one LNB and one satellite , in box advanced configuration settings,
and if it is possible connect direct cable to the LNB

I do not know which LOF using C band LNB
But you can check LNB specifications for LNB you have
and enter manually LOF in Box Settings

LOF is Local oscilator frequency
=======================================
In any case test first only one LNB
then if you have good signal more of them.

Have done trying 1 LNB for one sattelite only and will try directly to LNB (bypassing disecq switch). My question the most at my head actually why it is work using non enigma STB and failed using Vu+

Do you have a good satellites.xml for your satellites
Is the configuration of diseqc good
Is the configuration of LNB good.

This all may be the reason.

yeah...I thing so..the problem may be from satellites.xml
will try to update with the good one and see what happen.

new satellite.xml has loaded and the problem remain.
I need to clarify that the exact problem is low SNR about 30% while signal strength the AGC is good enough about 70%. (satellite status is un-lock)
is anyone ever has the same problem? how to gain SNR into certain value that can be used for locking the satellite.

You try look to your hardware ?
Somethimes smoll coreckt give alot [ look to cable/ conection/ good setup LNB]
On feed image you find alot good setting you try one from him and based on him made setup from begined.

The SNR, Signal to Noise Ratio, is your signal quality, and yours is too low.
The only way to increase it is either by increasing your dish size, aligning the dish correctly, or adjusting the LNB skew, rotation in the holder, to maximize the signal.

But he says that the other STB is OK. A doubt: is the other box able to get HD channels or was it only for SD? And the problematic channels are SD or HD? Because if you have problems only with HD channels is possible is really a problem of signal (dish, LNB too old, cables, alignments... the usual) but if you have problems also with SD channels it's a completely different story.
Do you have the chance of comparing your old STB LNB settings with VU+? For instance about forcing 12v voltage or the like? It is possible it's something related to the LNB management.

My VU+ Duo 2 requires a higher SNR, to scan the channels in, than my older receivers, but once scanned in the channels work at a lower SNR level.
The VU+ Uno 4K might be the same, either way a SNR of only 30% is too low, even if you manage to scan the channels in you will quickly lose them due to rain fade, or other conditions.

Thanks all for sugestions.
The old box able to get both SD and HD channels, things make me crazy this Vu also ever get the good signal for few hours, then all gone.

Next troubleshooting will be :
  • Adjusting LNB position
  • Look into detail all connection and re-do all connection if necessary strating from LNB, disecq switch and up to the box.
  • If above not help, then replace all cables and switch. Including LNB?
Hope the problem will solve.

Talking about forcing 12V voltage, what is the function of voltage mode polarization and increase voltage ON/OFF? On the old box one LNB ran with 12V ON

Thanks

What are the signal quality readings, on the old receiver?
SNR quality can drop due to external forces, on some frequencies, incuding DECT telephones, or running the cable through devecies such as a V-Box II, or even a faulty Diseqc switch.

replying to an old thread.......Any help from you guys about the C-band issue??
My VU+ duo 4k cannot tune toi any C-band frequency even with direct cable..Have anyone heard been successful in tuning C-band?

C Band requires a special LNB, which isn't really worth it, for the UK, except for real enthusiasts,
Providing your C Band, or KU/C band, combined, LNB is working, there shouldn't be a problem.
Can you please post images of your C Band tuner settings.

Here is my setup. My lnb is c band 5150 lof ....on a separate dish.... it tunes well with other receivers like dm800hd

I thought you were using a direct cable, but your setup shows you using a Diseqc switch.
Can you test your receiver on another C Band LNB, friends, or relatives?

yes it is in a switch..
but the switch is not an issue...I also used direct cable to that tUNER...With same result. The LNB cannot be a problem with VU+ only. I tuned with STRONG, DM800HD, Startrack ...all locked on C- band with same LNB and and dish. This a 3m dish fine tuned for that satellite with satellite meter. Even my satellite meter is locking to that signal....
I can try another LNB but that wont solve the problem....
My question here is:
Has someone been able to lock to C- band ( any. sat) on VU+ 4K ( BHole 3)?????
