VU+ Uno 4K SE - Really Basic Questions??

I am looking at getting the Uno 4K SE to replace and elderly UK Humax Foxsat HDR Freesat device. It will be twin satellite tuner S2X and I'll be asking for OpenVix, I think, and I've found the manuals for the Uno and OpenVix - which I hope is a start. I'll be using the TOSLINK to a USB powered Bluetooth transmitter unit and portable loudspeaker so I can listen to radio without needing the TV on.

I'll be using it on a boat, for which the 12v is brilliant. Unfortunately, as I travel and moor in different places, I have to find the satellite each time. This is not difficult and I manage a 30% success rate of finding the satellite when I switch on with the Humax and also use a small satellite tuner box.

So, Ive been reading around and know that I can load a Freesat "bouquet" etc.

But some basic Qs:

I hope the turning to satellite, Astra 28E, is easy??

With my current LNB, non wide band and non unicable, with 2 cables I think I can achieve 8 channel recording with the internal loop through??

Can OpenVix plugins be downloaded to PC and transferred by USB stick?? Or do I need wifi/ethernet connection on the Uno?? What size are plugins??

And do I need a permanent internet connection or just when I want a plugin or update the SE and OpenVix??

I'd like to be able to display the EPG, to set timers, and view recorded programmes on the small display. Can anyone confirm what can be displayed on the small screen??

Any other points I should consider??

Many thanks.

Hi

I know that the name of this forum can be somewhat confusing ;) we can certainly answer some of the questions but Image OpenVix have their own forum so maybe better to ask over there.
This is the forum for Blackhole and OpenBlackhole image, so we can say you just stepped into the Apple store asking questions about Android ;)

Thanks - yes not at all obvious that this is Blackhole. Open Vix not withstanding, some of my Qs are the hardware related - capability of small screen, number of tuners and need have have internet connection. So i'll post the VU+ hardware.

Yes they have been trying to clear it up but of cause the big banner at the top of the forum page with the link to vuplus.com (Official Vu+ site) is easy to miss understand i can see that :)
An update of the logo with some ref to Blackole/OpenBlackhole would be in place maybe @Matrix10
