Hello

Have a Motorized dish and Vu+duo 2 receiver
with 2 x tuner cards

tuner A and B ( Lnb in and Loop out )


if i wanted to record one channel while watching another

am i correct in saying that i would need two feed cables to the receiver
and a twin Lnb ??

Yes, I have a twin LNB, two outputs, on my motorized dish, with VU+ Duo 2.
You can still record, and view, channels on the same transponder, with one connection, but for anything else, including recording one transponder, and viewing a different transponder, you require at least two satellite connections.

so if i had a twin Lnb
obviously one line into tuner A
and the other line into tuner B

just like Sky Q really

what happens dish end
with the motor

only one cable goes into the motor
what happens there ??

Depends on your motor, if using a basic motor, for smaller dishes, one cable, from the LNB, goes into your motor, then from the motor to one of your tuners. This tuner is set to control your motor, in the tuner settings, the second cable goes directly from the LNB to the second tuner, on your receiver, this tuner is set up as second cable to motorized dish.

If using a larger, 36v, motor, which has 4 wires, going from the motor, to a V-Box II, then it's slightly different.

What type of motor are you using?

yes i understand now
the motor is a Alsat Supreme Intelligent LED DiSEqC DarkMotor

i have 2 connections on the motor
1 from the Lnb
and the other straight to Tuner A in on the receiver

so all i have got to do is run another cable straight from the Lnb to tuner B

what do i then set the tuner section on ,with the receiver ??

Change the LNB to a twin, from the current single, switch over the cable, currently attached to your single LNB, to one of the ones on the new twin LNB, then just run a second cable, from the free twin LNB output, to your second tuner.
The first tuner, probably Tuner A, can be left as it is, just go into the menu, Tuner configuration, and set Tuner B to second cable, from motorized dish.
