VUDUO2+ HDMI port dead

Hello,
it seems that yesterday my HDMI port died ... I can still get the signal from the VU via the scart but the image is horrible.
Any idea if it is possible to (easily) replace this piece of hardware ?

BTW, do not know if this is related, but after that "failure", the system date on the vu went back to 01-01-1970 and does not update anymore .... !!!!

Thanks,
GS

This seems to be not just a HDMI problem but an overall HW issue. Nothing we can assist by SW advices. You need a technician.

Thank you for your answer. I wonder how you can tell that this is an overall HW issue since other sources (scart, ybl) work OK. In fact everything else like recording on local HDD, internet access, EPG, etc .... work OK. As I mentioned, I was hoping someone in the forum would have the same issue and did a change of the HDMI module. So yes, in this case, this is HW, but I understood thisd forum is not only dedicated to SW ....

You must have already tried to put a new image, from the root ...

no, not yet ; you mean that I should re-install BH with USB stiock ? (sorry, my english is not that good)

I am currently running 3.0.9.L, does it mean I should re-install 3.0.9A and then perform the on-line upgrades till 3.0.9L ?

Thx

Have you ever done the test using another HDMI cable? If not, do it.

Not having success with another HDMI cable, you should do that. Remove the HDD, disconnect the coaxial cable, disconnect the network cable, the scart cable. Start by inserting a factory firmware (the most recent), see if it works if yes, put the firmware you want.

Thanks. Yes, I have tried another cable and also another HDMI port, does not work. To be sure, I also tested another device on the TV HDMI port where vu was connected, and it was OK. So, the problem is really with HDMI AND vu ...

I will follow your advice and report back ; thanks for your suggestion.

@p.rodrigues : I have followed you advice ..... always same result, HDMI does not work all the rest works OK, so I am doomed with my scart ; unless I can find a technician to replace either that HDMI slot (coupled with e-sata) or the mother board (in which case may be a new solo would be better choice).

My Duo2 HDMI also died. It seems that there is a bad motherboard design.

You can use component (rgb) analog output for better picture. I used it for a few months. Then also LAN port died and receiver become overall unstable.

This is a very strange question because, if you don't know where are the capacitors it means you don't know which are them and so replacing them it's not something you should do yourself.
Any technicians know which and where are capacitors.
If it's not them to cause the issue, even more you need a technician.
The ones in the picture are clearly blown up.

Yes, I know I am a strange guy :) sometimes I like to make some new experiment ..... BTW many thanks @Platoon, the YPrPb (green/red/bue) cables give very good output ... and I think he is right, there might be a conception issue, I even found a UK website that insist that their guarentee covers HDMI lead ... also found quite some people with very same issue ....
Cheers,

Surely you will find more without this problem.... open the receiver and check the components. As @Alexwilmac writes, see if any capacitors have a leak and/or swelling. Even if you don't see anything unusual, if you know a technician, you can always ask for a budget. Or you get a new receiver....

Hi everyone!

I have a similar problem (I think):

My VU+ ULTIMO 4K can't be displayed in the TV (tried three different TVs and several cables). It stopped being recognized with no apparent reason.

I tried to factory default, and even upgrading to a new firmware with no success.

The system seems to keep working (I can use the internal display and browse the menu) and even access it via network but the only time it can be recognized by the TV is in the first seconds of the boot sequence.

You can see by yourselfes in the following video of a recent upgrade process:

I can't post the link but you can search youtu.be and add the following to the address: /PIYofqTdpFI

Any assistance is appreciated.

The link indicates video unavailable.... turn off everything connected to the box, including the existing HDD, everything is all cables leaving only the power supply, of course, try to upload a factory image.
