Vu+ Solo2 Network Connection

Ive had my Solo2 for a few years now and it has been great. About a month a ago the box lost its LAN connection despite being connected direct to my router with a Cat 5 patch cable as the receiver is within inches of the router.

I have always run Blackhole on the receiver

I rebooted the router and receiver, and checked the settings on the nework interface on Blackhole. I normally use a static IP address for the receiver, but changed the setting to DHCP allowing the router to allocate a free IP address. Although an IP address appears in the receiver network setting interface the green dot does not show the network connection is active and therefore the box receiver does not seem able to connect to any internet service such a You tube, or Kodi.

I then tried flashing the box with version 3.0.9 of Blackhole and set everything up from scratch again but the network connection was not functional.

I got a USB WiFi dongle from eBay and switched the receiver over to a wireless LAN connection to connect to my router and this restored things to normal. I have been using the receiver for a couple of weeks with no problems but today when I switched it on from standby the network connection had failed again and I cannot get it to reconnect via the interface. I have rebooted the router and receiver again and tried to connect the LAN wired and wireless with no luck.

Has anyone any ideas what may be wrong please. I have been messing about with it all day with no success. Im wondering if I should reflash the receiver again but I don't want to for through the hassle of having to search all the satellite positions again.

An help much appreciated

Have you try and reset your router?? some routers keep a list over connected devices and save the mac address of those devices so they can keep the same id address.
Login to your router and check if it keeps this list, if so then delete/empty the list.
Or just do a full reset of your router.

Hade the same error for some years ago. Accully with my Solo2 and this crapp list blocked my Solo2 because it was duplicated.

Good news I had the Mac Address of my Solo 2 in an entry in the security section of my Virgin Media Router which I removed. Also disconnected power on Receiver for 24 hours. This morning I restarted the router and powered up the receiver with out the USB WiFi dongle plugged in. When the receiver had booted I tried the wired connection which doesn’t seem to work. There is no LED activity on the LAN port so I suspect this is faulty. I then plugged in the USB WiFi dongle and then went to the Network Section in BH to set up the WiFi again. WiFi connected and indicated an internet connection. It’s all working again.
Thanks to Thomas67 for the advice. Another lesson learned.
