4:2:2 -> Support?

I'm a feedhunter. Temporarily I use a solution by streaming the HD feeds in 4:2:2 by vlc to my PC.

Will there be any driver support for HD feeds in 4:2:2 for the Vu+Duo?

Hi

I think the hardware do not give any possibilities for that (4:2:2).
SD/HD 4:2:2/fta feeds You have to stream to Your computer to open them.

The hardware is not the problem. It's up to the sw developers to make it possible.

Would be nice. Txs for your efforts. If the dev's are located in South Korea, I'm not sure if they can realize that. Are there any 4:2:2 satellite feeds in Asia/Pacific available?

vu hardware impo should be capable for 422, it only needs algo.
After all difference btwn 420 and 422 is colorimety algo, everything else is the same.

Broadcom chips do not support 4:2:2 colorspace. Converting 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 in software is not possible in such processors. These are STBs, not full scale computers.

Interesting. In our part of the Planet (Pacific Region) more and more feeds are found in 4:2:2. Its only a matter of time that some satellite STB manufacture will make a Satellite box capable of 4:2:2 Hopefully it will be Vu duo and they will call it Vu Duo 3.
Whoever it is will get my money and the rest of us feed hunters and others I would guess would follow the same. By the way I have a AZBOX which does 4:2:2 but its terribly slow and not friendly.

AZBox and Vu uses TWO DIFFERENT CPUs. It's not so difficult to understand.
ST CPU choosed by AZBox suppors 4:2:2 color schema.
Broadcom CPU choosed by Vu NO.
