Hi guys, is possible introduce a delay in channels of solo2?
Example:
I change channel and one second after (create a one second of buffer) system play a new channel.

Miro, apologies for maybe cross-posting it, but this issue gets really annoying for us watching HRT channels, might be the same for others with special character entries, don't know.
So, yes, I have clean install 2.0.2 and did not even install anything else, or turn on, just pressed EPG button on HRT2 and it crashed. Is there maybe a way to intercept the situation, can somebody look at it?
I did research on this and on old CrossEPG support site there was issue mentioning ISO-8859-2 unsupported encoding, precisely for HRT channels, maybe somebody can look at it and see if there is a way to intercept and prevent crash.

not able to test it.
But we do have a problem with all the EPG data last few days
so I guess it's not a constant problem but a problem with the epg files from Rytec server.
The problem about which you write is reflected in a different way
and that is that some letters are not well displayed.
But not enigma crash.
But agn I cannot test now.

OK, thanks, but please note this is nothing actual or recent in my case. It happens "since ever" and only on HRT channels. Why was this last crash interesting, well, because I JUST installed image, not sure if EPG was from net or service, it might as well be the one from service. Is there a way for me to test it without any EPG, except for one that comes from service? Because if it crashes then, it would be easier to find the real cause. In a way I was hoping coders can add extra protection layer preventing this to happen, but then again finding the exact cause rather than "fixing it with a hammer" might be better option.
Another thing that could be helpful, exactly the same crash often happens even when you just open the bouquet with HRT channels, it shows list of channels but at that point it freezes, spinner comes up and it crashes in few seconds. The very same way it can crash when you just press down or up key, it displays the list of channels but spinner comes up and it crashes in few seconds.
I repeat, in my case, this happens exclusively with HRT channels and with bouquets that have them in, I watch 4 sats, have thousands of services with EPG loaded and it never ever happened on any other channel/bouquet than HRT. So I'd suspect it could have something to do with special characters, but can not be sure of course...

It would be nice to work for VU+
But I'm working for another company.(mobile communications)
I have not noticed any problems for HR TV
last months with Solo2 which I generally use.
True, I do do not watch often SD TV programs ant HRT
But I never had a crash enigma on HRT and not
freezes, spinner.
I find that very strange.But I'm going to test the next days.

No problems with EPG on HRT HERE
No problem with the EPG from transponder
No problem with the HRT EPG from CrossEPG
No crash and freezing
Letters displayed without problems
EPG for 6/7 days CrossEPG

For those who have problems with the network
after image update.
Switch to DHCP first in network Configuration to reset network
reboot.
After that, you can config your network if you like to change.
DNS name server is automatically configured
(though it can not see in Network panel)

I use the latest BH 2.0.2 on solo2 and luckily took a backup as soon as I set it up running.
About an hour ago, I updated to Rev A and rebooted as usual.
But as soon as I switched to a DTT channel using A867, after 5 seconds I got the green screen.
Tried again same result. Rebooted again, tried once more but same result.
Now I've re-installed the backup (without Rev A) and I can view DTT channels as before.
Any suggestions please?

Miro, well, I was maybe not clear. What you show us here is exactly the same I could have posted. Yesterday. Meaning it would work without any problems for days and then suddenly it would crash. And at that point you could not do anything related to EPG on HRT channel in question, not even display a bouquet list with it on (because list also displays current event and that's what likely crashes it). In worse case scenario, if your last "remembered" service is one in question, box will go into circular crashing and the only way to stop it would be to switch it off on the back.
So, this issue is not constant and I surely hope you don't think I'm pulling your leg for no reason, there are many others who have this very same problem, manifested in exactly the same way. It can work for a week without any issues, you could load EPG any way you want it, but when something is wrong (quite possibly with service EPG, don't know), then you can't do anything. I've learned to manually type in the service number somewhere outside of bouquet that has HRT, this way enabling me to even display service list(s) and watch other channels.
Do you think I should start new/separate thread with this issue? I can of course provide crashlogs and any other info if required....

It is clear that this occurs due to poor epg file.
In this case, enigma crash.
But because bad epg remain in the memory and not only on USB or HDD.
Sometimes the only way to stop this is to switch box on/off or with ftp delete bad epg.dat
but this is possible only at the moment of the enigma restart
(because at that moment enigma retourn back epg from memory to hdd/usb)
or manual stopping enigma with init 4 command
deleting the epg.dat file and re-start with init 3.
Otherwise enigma return bad epg.dat from memory to the USB/HDD
and re-load the same bad epg.dat in to memory.
So you have to prevent on one way or another
to have bad cycle.
In most cases this does not happen
enigma do crash and memory as well as usb / hdd are cleaned.
In principle, we can not prevent that you download bad epg
and protective enigma mechanism .
It is not a specific problem for HRTV but applies to all other providers
the only question is quality from epg.dat for HTV on this servers.

However, what I'm trying to confirm or deny is that in my specific case with new image just loaded there was no EPG from Net. At all. If I'm not mistaken I did not even switch on the network at that point, meaning bad EPG might have come from service. Is this possible? Is there a way to test this? How do I completely switch off network EPG and use service one only? And in case this can come from the service itself, would that maybe deserve somebody to look at it and see if any kind of protection can be built in? If I got it right, this is now BH Enigma, with complete code in your hands, so maybe coder(s) can check it?

No we can not do anything that I know .
Topic EPG has been discussed many times.
Network EPG does not work/download if I you did not activate/enable.
There is the possibility of giving priority to NET EPG instead of SAT EPG
see the EPG panel.(general options >>enable EIT EPG >>NO)
If this happens often on only HRT, it is clear
where is the problem.
So there are three options for testing.
1.only SAT EPG
2.only NET EPG
3.MIX

Miro, thanks, really appreciated. I will try to narrow down the circumstances and maybe have a clearer picture on how and why it happens. In reality, I strongly suspect it has to do with EE special characters and possibly Enigma can simply be provoked to crash under debug mode or something, if simple ČĆŽŠĐčćžšđ is sent as an EPG event descriptor? If this doesn't crash it, we would know it's not about special characters on HRT. Or at least not those... Some of those rarely show up, so who knows...
I know many people here who have this very same issue and it is maybe a short line of code which could prevent it, I do programming for a living and I certainly understand programmer(s) must balance between performance and safety. I too hate to build in protection for each and every stupidity user could do (this way ballasting the application and slowing it down), but I think we have here a clear error in sense of where it happens and why it happens (program-wise), with code in your hand now, I'd expect, or hope, preventing it could be simple.

Well im using bh 2.0.2 updated to rev a now just randomly it just locks up with the little bh timer in top left moving a little every 5 or so secs. But just never comes back to life. Does any one else have this problem. It happens even if im just watching a channel and im not running and apps doing something like cooltv guide or watching a recorded program. Infact I could just leave the room come back and just find it like it. Have to turn off and reboot several times a day. Only seems to of started since upgrade to rev a. I dont get any crash logs of course this is not helpful. Does not responf to ping ftp telnet but the tv channel stays on.

I'm using 2.0.2 Rev. B images in my kitchen and all works properly with base plugin ... I don't use other plugins like CoolTV guide and should be the problem.
Try with clean images and verify if the problem occour again
