Ultimo Cable Tv watch one channel record another

Hi I have the ultimo with 2x dvb-s and 1 x dvb-c. My vm feed is connected to the one dvb-c and if I record a channel only an handful of other channels are available for watching. Now I read the old vm boxes had 3 internal tuners from the one connection. The question is if I want to watch any channel while recording another do I need to purchase another dvb-c and split the feed? I assume the loop through isn't possible to select in tuner setup of
a dvb-c and so not an option.
