My wireless connection was working fine in Blackhole 1.7.9 image. However, with the new OE 2 image I cannot set up Wireless Access Point with the plugin. I have tried many a time to set 'Use AP Mode' to yes by pressing ok button but all in vain. It goes back to 'no'. Kindly let me know what I am doing wrong. Regards

- Same here. I cannot setup wireless ap pn ultimo with latest image. I have tried changing all the settings in the app, restarting box and everything but theres no any wireless signal from the box. when i enter the app or plugin again ap mode is on NO. i set it up again, but same thing happens. and it worked before OE2.0.
I have explained in the first post that I cannot set up Wireless AP with the plugin. After filling the parameters when I go out of the plugin menu it reverts to 'No' . So basically I cannot configure AP with the OE 2.0.1 image on my solo 2. I have USB wireless stick that came with the box which was working fine in 1.7.9-3 image.
I am at a loss to understand why nobody has bothered to answer a simple question in this technical forum

I repeat also here the functions of some Wireless related plugins:
Wireless Access Point: this plugin (avaiable on Green Panel) will be used when you want to use the Vu+ box as an ACCESS POINT. The box MUST be connected via wired cable (ethernet) and there should present also a wireless dongle who permit other clients (like PCs, tablets and phones) to use the wireless connection created on the box
Wireless Lan Setup: this plugin (avaiable on Setup -> System) will be used to configure your wireless network in substitution of Ethernet (wired) connection.
These plugins CANNOT be used simultaneously.

Thanks a lot Paolino and Angelofsky 1980 for such a prompt response. Yes I did change wireless stick and configured my Wireless Lan Setup from the plugin available on Setup->System and lo and behold wifi is working fine. Angelofsky 1980 explained beautifully the difference between the two plugins available on green panel and that on the system menu which went a long way in resolving the issue. Thanks
how to disable wireless lan setup because when i try to configure access point the plugin always goes back to no for ap mode
how to configure the box ip ? is it the same as in lan config ?

If you need to use Wireless Access Point Plugin you MUST connect the box via ethernet cable (and you can configure it via Network item into Setup panel as usual)
After that, you must configure Access Point plugin to build a wireless network. You need also a USB wifi dongle.
read @angelofsky post again - he has already explained everything in his post.

If you have Original vu+ solo2 USB stick
I use WPA2.
If it is connected to the rear maybe you need USB extension cable (I use this cable)
because of possible interference.Find the best position for USB dongle.
sorry but i do not understand and manage to run my network (maybe stupid)
so i'll try to explain again (trying to connect my PC to my network using wireless ap of the vu)
- first, i have my vu duo configured as well with a lan connection to my router, and yes i use an ethernet cable and the wifi dongle is not connected,
- second, i plug (in front port) the wifi dongle and then try to configure wireless ap pluging in green menu
- when i have closed the plug and re-open it, 'using ap mode' is still on 'no' and i cannot see any wireless network from my PC (using windows),
- when i look into setup menu, i have now three connections : LAN connection, LAN 2 connection, WLAN connection, which one to configure ?
i have tried with 2 differents sticks : an old ng mini dongle NG-WUSBN and a tp link nano usb adaptater TL-WN725N and same thing happen
i am really lost so is there anybody who can help me to configure or tell what i did wrong ?

Ok now it's more clear: your PC is connected via Wifi network and that wireless network is made by Vu+ box.
The usage of Wireless Access Point plugin is correct in your situation but I've never used it.
i have same problem with last BH and rt3070 stick any advice please?
