Hi, I'm a newbie and trying to get my 1 day old vu duo set up. I've installed latest channels list and the thing is running stock standard openPLi 3.0.

i'm using a fixed dish and trying to get FTA channels (in NZ)

When I set up the tuner as; simple, single, then set the satellite (optus D1), the next line says LNB unavailable. same with any satellite I pick.

Any suggestions?

Ok, yes, read all that. now I know what BH means.
I'm not running BH yet - just trying to get it running with factory default image for now. openPLi comes upon initial screen. got a channel list for Optus D1 satelite but still cant adjust lnb freq.

First of all if your box comes to your home with OpenPli image doesen't had into flash the stock firmware (called OpenVuplus who can be downloaded from http://code.vuplus.com). OpenPli, like BlackHole, it's a third-party image developed by it's own devteam.
If you have questions about Pli image, look into their Board (use Google to find it) or flash BH image and ask here all your questions.

Ok, flashed it with the latest BH and eventually found my silly mistake. At the place where LNB says "unavailable" I had to push left or right button to bring up LNB 1, 2, 3, etc. and then I could set the frequency. So that parts all good now.
Different problem now, when I set the satellite type and look in sat finder part, only a few of the satellite transponders come up locked. Its missing much of the content. In my case its getting most of the scrambled channels and very few of the FTA channels. Thinking it may be faulty. The dish signal is good when I hook up a basic satellite STB.

I think you should install a prebuilt set of settings (channel list) or update your satellite.xml file with updated TPs data. With BH image is server a standard satellite.xml file who should be enought for many users but can be outdated.
To update satellite.xml file you can look in the website http://satellites-xml.eu/
After xml generation, upload it to your box (via FTP) into /etc/tuxbox folder, replace your current file (if you want you can backup it) and next reboot your box
You should now have all TPs updated.

Very good suggestions. That worked great. Thanks heaps. Got all the channels from 2 satellites now.

Next I need to know how to put common channels into favorites list - is this a bouquet? I have looked all over the forum but can't find a how to guide.
At the moment I have to press channel up, press green green, providers, go down to provider and look in their lists. very convoluted. Is there an auto bouquet maker available for BH 2.0.5 reb b build 2013-08-06

I'll keep trying - must be here somewhere
