changing from vix to black hole

Hi, I have been using VIX image since I brought my solo2. I am having some issues and it has been suggested to swap to black hole is the a good move.

I downloaded the 3.0.1 image and put it on a usb stick and flashed like I would if it was a update on a vix image.

turn off at the back switch and turn on and wait for the update to start but it never happened.

My question is how do I make the change, and also I am not the best at resetting up a solo2. I had to get a guy to do this remotely before for me. Is there guides here that will talk you everything i need to know to make the change.

Please post some photos (back, front, up) of your box.

I dont understand why you need a photo of the box, its a vu+ solo2 deffo original not a clone brought from the world of satelite when the boxes first came out.

Thanks robocop, I followed the guide but it did not work. I don't know if it's because I have a vix image on the solo2 currently

If your STB it´s an original VUPLUS Solo2, it doesn´t matter if you have OpenVIX image, VTI, OpenPli or whatelse, you should be able to flash it with BlackHole 3.0.1 F image or Open BlackHole 0.1.

Follow this steps:

  1. Download a zip file for your VuPlus model from --> http://www.vuplus-community.net/boa...solo2_usb_release_20160121_4470ba1-zip.25136/
  2. Unzip the zip file and you will have vuplus folder and under the folder, you have another folder named after the model of your VuPlus set.
  3. Copy vuplus folder (including all the sub folders and files in it) to root folder of an USB memory.
  4. Turn off your VuPlus set and insert the USB memory to USB port on the set.
  5. Turn on the set.
For Solo2: Push power button when message shows. Update is done when complete message is displayed on the VFD.

NOTE: Remember to remove all USB devices attached to your STB.

Ok thanks, I'll change USB. I just thought I used a different USB when I was flashing vix.

Which black hole is the most stable out of the two you mention 3.0.1 or the open 0.1.
