Duo2 Dead duo2

DamacFunkin

Vu+ Newbie
I've had my duo2 6 weeks now, a few weeks ago it seemed dead, after having it unplugged for a long time it came back to life, but gradually it hd started to crash, now it has crashed and won't boot past the splash screen, strangely it will let me re flash it via USB, I've tried every available image but on reboot it stops at the splash screen, I have managed to create a terminal output which seems to indicate a memory fault.... What do the experts think?

Some bad blocks in the flash memory are present in every Duo2 and in any other device using flash memories.
This is the reason why a bad block table exists.

Some bad blocks in the flash memory are present in every Duo2 and in any other device using flash memories.
This is the reason why a bad block table exists.
Yes i know that bad blocks are present, but you have obviously missed the bit where it says the bad block volumes are corrupt and can't mount rootfs because of unknown blocks....

p.s. @angelofsky1980 seems the unit will have to be replaced which is going to cause me loads of hassle as i don't think the reseller is being very helpful, i was hoping some clever b'stard would be able to help me correct the corrupted volume tables or help me reset the rootfs load secor or something...

You can only reflash your box with latest OpenVuplus 2.1 image from http://code.vuplus.com and hope all will be corrected but I'm not sure you solve the problem.

What do the experts think?

hello

i have a friend's (one week old) duo2 with a very similar issue ( i haven't logged the boot) : after a flash the box hangs with the cfev2 message, and after that i cannot turn on the box: always a white little square shown on the diaplay
after unplugging the box from the main supply for some time, it starts but still hangs afterr a while

is it an hardware problem?

ps
tested with latest bh and the latest 2.1 build

Yes it is a hardware problem, I sent mine back to Vu+ In the UK and they couldn't fix it so they supplied me with a new one (Thanks Julian).
