EPG missing

Hi,

I am quite new to all this, and I am having troubles with EPG.
On many channels is just missing, on Italian channels, the ones
I really care about, I have usually just the current program and the one immediately after.
Not great for recording!

Maybe it is just related to my installation
This is my software:

EPG can be got in two ways:
1) directly from a provider, just zapping to one of its channels and waiting really a few seconds.
2) Downloading by a plugin like CrossEPG or EPGimport that use Internet fonts and the box must be connected.

Italian channels don't have a complete EPG:they don't broadcast a REAL EPG but only current and next event.
For instance, instead, Swiss, German and Austrian providers give you about 8 days of EPG.

The 2nd way has got also some inefficiencies because the EPG might be a little imprecise.

I prefer CrossEPG because it also has the possibility to configure the ALIAS function to copy the EPG from a channel to a similar one (like from Rete4 to Rete4 HD. Only, it might take many minutes to prepare the EPG if you choose too many providers. That's why I schedule it at night to do its job.

EPGimport is much, much faster but it has got no alias infos.
Sometimes, if I need to quickly re-download the EPG, I launch EPGimport and then only the ALIAS function by CrossEPG

I used the second method
for mediaset it worked, but strangely for the rai channels I have only the current day.

CrossEPG is far more complete and efficient. And it's not a problem if it takes many minutes as it is scheduled to download at night.
But you might need to edit the alias.conf file to have an almost perfect EPG.
CrossEPG has got also specific scripts for RAI and Mediaset.

EPG are not loaded at all for French tv on 3.0.8 BH image on VU+ DUO.
What is the best EPG system for French TV? OpenEpg, CrossEpg or EPG import ?
Your assistance is highly appreciated

Have you checked in: Menu> EPG> CrossEPG> Provider XMLTV?
In that menu the French channels are displayed and you can make your choice.

I have well set french channels on CrossEpg, but no EPG downloaded?
Please check the attached log file.
