Any Media Player supporting Divx or MP3 playback should support the selection of the Code Page being used. Most if not all HW based DVD-Players, BD-players, Media Players have such a feature available.
-
The Code Page is being used for:
- File name display in the file-browser
- MP3 Tag information display
- Subtitle display for text based subtitle files
People in different part of the use different keyboards to make the files which are Windows ANSI Code Page based. I am e.g. living in Western Europe and will use media with Titles/Subtitles in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish . This asks for ANSI Code Page 1252.
and will enable á à ê ñ type of characters commonly found in these languages.
Without Code Page support they translate to strange characters or are skipped making the text string unreadable.

Code Pages are:
1250 — Central and East European Latin
1251 — Cyrillic
1252 — West European Latin
1253 — Greek
1254 — Turkish
1255 — Hebrew
1256 — Arabic
1257 — Baltic
1258 — Vietnamese Vietnamese
