How to backup internal harddisc backup

My internal hdd crash often. So everytime i lost a lot of recorded movies on it. I want to copy whole internal hdd to another disc. I am using mac os x line, what is the fastest way to copy whole internal hdd to any other location???

I would recommend to use DCC or any other Vu utility !
It may not be that fast, but it will do fine!
