HowTo Check Your LNB/Motor/SAT Installation Power Consumption

Not For Newbies!

A lot of Vu+ users are reporting problems with their boxes. No signal, tuner is not working and so on.
But mostly the problems are with an installation (LNB, Motor, Cables, Multiswitch, ...) causing tuner overloading.

You can check by yourself at home your installation power consumption in this way:

Make your F-connector power supply adaptor

Connect your LNB, or all your Sat installation to an external power supply to check short circuits/power consumption.

I used adjustable linear power supply with V/A display (costs about 50,- Eur) to not to use an external multimeter.

But to be sure, I did current measurings with external Multimeter too.

I used for tests Inverto Twin LNB.

If you want to check your installation "online", use some DC Injector and DC blocker.

Please, don't overvoltage your Sat installation! I consider Max. of 18,5V.
Warning: Current consumption of your installation over 400mA can damage your receiver! So if you measure values over limit, check your installation!

Feel free to comment, Thank you :).
