Images in meoboot can damage image in flash

for example.
in flash BH 2.0.2c, in meo OpenATV-3. I start OpenAtv, and do online image update...image do update, and go to restart box....after restart image not start, also in flash image not start...
Only reflash again BH and instal meo can help. After this all images work ok even OpenAtv.


It seems that online updates and/or images in meo can make change/damage image in flash. It's possible to fix this ?

I know that meoboot is only for test, but it would be nice if this problem will be fixed

You cannot upgrade image in multiboot.
This is how e2 is made.
If you post threads with these titles we will consider to remove meoboot.
It seems that users don't understand all that they have and all the work made.
In e2 boxes there will never be a full multiboot.
If you don't like this compromise and will post these kind of threads we will remove again meoboot like in the past.

User must understand how it works and follow instructions.
Works good for me.

image and MeoBoot coder. :D

First of all you do not know the way a whole Meoboot / multiboot works.

MeoBoot is not made, that one use image installed with Meoboot rather then flash image.
It is designed to test and experiment with other images
but not for daily use.

The chance that an image does not work 100% is always present
The chance that the update image on the USB somewhat spoil in the image in flash is also present.

So MeoBoot is compromise but not 100% straightforward solution.
Which allows you to look at other images
and perhaps for some limited use .

but it can not replace 100% image installation in flash

We have just returned MeoBoot back to the user's request,
that like experiment with other images
but we can understand that in the E2 is not possible to make a 100% solution for Multiboot

therefore bugs are always possible
and we do not intend to examine all bugs in Multiboot but also bugs in images
installed with Multiboot.

We have our image
and always a lot of work around it

I like experiments and have repeated the procedure. I have BH 2.02c in flash, installed openatv-3.0-vusolo2-20130425_usb in Meo and made OpenaTV software upgrade ( 41 items) from their server. After upgrading all work fine! I think the problem was not in Meo, but somewhere else (maybe media where the image was installed).

Your experience is not relevant.
We have thousands of users and the kind of updates can be related to image parts that can create conflicts. And every image have its own differences.

Absolutely spot on !! I've tried meoboot just for the sake of it and it was fun to compare all the images available for the Solo2 but still with BH 2.0.2c in the flash. After the trhill was over, I simply removed meoboot altogether and never looked back. I'm more than happy with BH alone. Does everything it's supposed to and is by far may favourite image .... just my 2 cents.

If you mess around with multiple plugins, and configurations that are not common you have to expect some breakage at some point.
I'm guilty of this as I have a compulsion to mess with about stuff, BUT as well as you take regular image backups before you do stuff it is fairly easy to go back.
Shiro etc do a great job with the images making them work for the masses and also allowing for people like me and you(Nickz) to easily mess about. But its a big ask for Shiro etc to fix every thing we break as it might just be affecting a single person...... if you break it you fix it! or go a step back and try again!

So on that note, BIG thanks to Shiro, Matrix and anyone else who has helped me in this forum and to all continuing with the development!

No you cannot. Meoboot is included only in Bh images.
The other version are faked old and bugged version hacked ad bad adapted.

As said by Shiro, OFFICIAL & ORIGINAL MeoBoot is included only into BH images. Other are HACKED / MODDED and WE DON'T SUPPORT IT.
This kind of discussions are useless.
Remember: if you use another images who includes HACKED / MODIFIED version of MeoBoot: YOU USE IT AT ONLY YOUR FULL RISK.
