I have ST1000LM014 installed in my duo2 box. It is not true SSD drive actually (it is SSHD hybrid), but I can report that I have no problems with it (and it is faster a little bit than regular HD but by no means as fast as true SDD drive).
The reason I ask is that I saw this post which seemed to suggest that while an SSD drive would work fine, it may fail over time: forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showpost.php?p=48336269&postcount=15
True that they will fail over time...unfortunately (I assume - as a VU+ newbie) it will probably fail too soon as it's probably not correctly handled by the OS. There are numerous things to be aware of when it comes to set-up an SSD drive in Linux. On the other hand it also depends on how much you´re going to use it...
Search for Linux and SSD and you will find more info...
I use a SSD in my Duo2 since July 2013 and before I used to use it in my prevoius box for over a year. It's almost 2 years now and I don't see any problems with it.
