My Vu+ box: Duo2
Hdd Vendor model: Seagate PN: 9JB1N4-575 RPM = 7200
Capacity: 3 Tera 64MB Cache Partitions = None
Size: 3.5
External / Internal: Internal
Filesystem: Linux ext3
Image = BH 2.0.7 .2 ATSC
Test result:
root@vuduo2:/media/hdd# dd if=/dev/zero of=./output.img bs=8k count=256k
262144+0 records in
262144+0 records out
2147483648 bytes (2.0GB) copied, 13.613609 seconds, 150.4MB/s

Notes:
This HD was installed straight from the box, brand new. Original format type is unknown to me.
The Duo2 is my first VU+ receiver. I did not have much information on how to install this hard drive when I got it. The receiver immediately recognized this drive when it was installed, but I could not access the hd to record on it or use it
All I did to solve these problems was to do an image back-up. Doing this caused the receiver to format or to make this drive useful and accessible. Linux ext3 format is what I ended up with without any partitions. EB

Hi Siro
I formated my Toshiba SSD 2.5 - 128 gb with this command:
# umount /media/hdd/ ; /sbin/mkfs.ext4 -T largefile -m0 /dev/hda1
and it reported no error, but I am not sure if it is on ext4. to be sure, what I have to do?
greetings

These are quite useless benchmarks. You should first deside what you want from your HDD in a satbox, MB/s or reliability?
It is well known that some of SSDs can read/write at >1 GB/s (e.g. OCZ ZD4CM88-FH-3.2T), so HDDs will disapear soon as floppies did.
