Need advice to install Media player 2

Hello I have read the guide to install Media player 2 into my receiver but I am confusing where should I to start..I have only my default Media player and the Open Black Hole Image already updated through online server.I am using Vu+solo HD SE receiver multiboot mode (Open Black hole: Flash) and (Openpli 4.0 boot)

On Var/Tmp I have Only:

black hole.socket
hot plug.spcket
nxserver_ipc
smb.log

I have followed the instructions and seems already installed media player2
Some observations during my installation:
1)I did not install this file due the information on the guide: Do not need install Open black hole
python-xmlrpc_2.7.2-r7.17_mips32el.ipk

2) When I install this file:
- install ---> python-difflib_2.7.3-r5.3.9_mips32el.ipk
error words were showed during the execution. I have tried 2 times and the same.where I can be assure that is installed very well?..Media player2 is working. No crash errors windows is showing when I log on my receiver & XBMC
3) I test any add-on movie and the picture is "Blue". I have tried differents channels and the same thing(picture below)

4) Where I can configure media player2..
Is plugins==>>mediaplayer2==>>subsupport?

5) I am still freeze on my live channels.. Movies (mp4) is good but live channels freeze after 20 seconds. the same problem I had on default Media player..
What can be the problem?

Hi @tiger2000

1) - Not needed, already on image.

2) - You have, what error does your system... but if mediaplayer2 is running your movies local files ... like for example mp4 or mkv files ... there is no issues.

3) - Addons via XBMC ... can sometimes ... gives you a stopping playing ... dued to plugins not well optimized, and dued to bandwith internet limitations ( it depends of the number of users using the same server, at a time ).

4) - Open Mediaplayer2 ... press MENU ... change settings and configure it at your own desire.

5) - The same answer of point number 3. Live channels are live ... and so.. even on PC ... you can get some freeze ... depends of servers ... not from decoding sources.

What about the "Aliens Guys" jeje..Blue Picture. I did not see anything on settings about "video setting color"..
One question: On settings Video country or region, said : russia, west europe, center europe, asia etc etc..
I did not see anything regards "America" but What is the setting for spanish (spain) or English( Uk)?

Looking what is my problem about of the "color blue" on the picture I have reviewed the settings on my receiver and all looks normal..
1)My satellites channels normal
2) I have tried to run videos and pictures using external files (usb) and using my New media player2 and all looks Normal
The problems of "coloration"seems ONLY on my XMBC with my New Media player2 (with default media player I never seen this issue)
I have change the skin on XBMC but the same Thing.. look the picture
using HDMI cable 1080i 60hz
I do not know what is the problem

1) - You must put the original plugin.py file on xbmc directory, if you have saved it, as i said on the guide.
2) - No, because you are not able to choose on xbmc, the mediaplayer you want for playing, you must allways change the plugin.py file.

Here is the original from plugin.py ( xbmc )!
Test it only on Blackhole 2.1.7 ( i think it´s the same for your STB ... not sure, cause it´s from my DUO2 ).

Oh yes, this message is showing everytime on this "skin" of XBMC and just click on "Ok" and i can navigate through my XBMC, the problem with the plugin.py that nunigaia send me is not working and the image is totally Freeze and my remote is not responding so I need to reboot my receiver with the back button

Hi tiger2000, i don´t send you any file ... indeed i´ve uploaded to forum the original plugin.py file for DUO2 ( downloaded from my STB ), dued an ask from you, because following the guide you haven´t made a copy of your original plugin.py, as i referred on guide.

I said on that post, that i´m not shure the plugin.py file is the same for your STB ( cause i have a DUO2 ) --> see post above #10

If you have instabillity on your image ... check your plugins .... maybe ( i´m sure ), you have crashs on your HDD ... regarding XBMC or what else!

Don´t know where the image freezes, and where it freezes ( this don´t help anyone ).

There´s lot of users that are using MEDIAPLAYER2, even on other foruns, and following the guide maded for installing it on other images and other STB´s.

As i told severall times ... streams are streams ... bandwith, plugins, number of users connected at the same time you are, can give freezing!

The file that I am talking about is the post #10.. seems that plugin.py is not work for VU+ solo HD SE. The freeze means "static" the receiver keep this image on the picture and no remote respond.
I do not have crash error reports on my system so I really dont know what happened..

Any way...I am viewing what I Can do to fix:
1) Any source where I can get the Original plugin.py for XBMC Vu+solo hd se receiver and Open black hole image?.. and return my XBMC to the original media player
2)If #1 is not,, so my option is to Flash and start again..correct?

I reflashed my receiver and Now I have everything very well again..
I really wish to have a subtitules on my XBMC.
Unfortunately my first experience to try to Install media player2 was not good..
The Blue issues on my Picture video are "scare" to me..And I never known what was the reason.
I think these are my two options :
1) to try again ( and dont forget to save everything.. plugin. py)
2) Anybody Knows another Media Player that I can Install to get subtitules on my XBMC (gotham)??

First of all ... before install MEDIAPLAYER2 ... if your STB is running "as expected", make a FULL BACKUP, using Backp Menu.
If anything goes wrong, you can revert allways to your previous installation on 4 or 5 minutes, by flashing this backup.

Do all the steps i said on the guide, if other users can run MEDIAPLAYER2, you will run too.

When i arrive home from work, i will make a GUIDE ... for this.
I will notify you that the guide is ready to work, and of course, it will be tested on my STB ( DUO2 ), i don´t have another VUPLUS STB to see if it works the same, but i think it will work.
