Hello everybody,

I bought a Vu+ UNO and a rtl8192cu WIFI USB adapter last week.
I installed the latest BH image (2.0.5) directly when I received the box.
Then, I connected my wifi adapter, the box recognize it (in wireless network adapter selection, it shows "rtl8192cu WLAN adapter wlan0") but when I do a Scan Wireless AP, the box find no network. I also try to share a WIFI connection from my IPhone but it's the same result: my box don't see any wireless network.

Could you help me please?

Thanks a lot! :)

Test USB dongle on a Pc, if the radio is broken in the dongle you won't see any AP there either.

I found something strange by connecting the dongle to my computer: the windows driver install wizard shows "RTL8188S WLAN adapter".
My VU+ UNO shows "rtl8192cu".

What do you think of that? Do I have to install rtl8188s driver on my VU+ ?

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Something I didn't tell you about this dongle: I ordered a VU+ official wifi adapter, and instead, the provider sent me a dreambox wifi micro usb adapter..... I already tell them to exchange it but I'm not sure I'll get an answer. I'm working on it.
During this time, I would like to have the wifi on my vu+ anyway.

On my computer, the dongle needs driver, I'm actually looking for it. Found nothing for the moment.

If you use Windows in your PC you can get USB IDs with mouse right-click on your device into Device Manager (don't worry if there is a driver installed) and select Properties item
In the next window, goto into Hardware tab and into the drop-down menu, select "Hardware ID" and post here the results (should be USB_VEN or similar one).

With these datas we can investigate if your device is supported or avaiable for future support.

I see two lines:
USB\Vid_07b8&Pid_8188&Rev_0200
USB\Vid_07b8&Pid_8188

I confirm that your device is supported by rtl8192cu driver as said your box but I don't know where is the problem

What image do you use?
Have you tried with official Vu+ image?
What box do you have?
Do you use an USB extension cable?
How many USB devices do you have connected?
What kind of wireless network do you have?
Have upgrade your wireless/router firmware to latest version?

Image: Blackhole 2.0.5 galaxy
Try with official image: no, I directly installed BH image when I received the box
Box: Vu+ uno
Extension cable: no
How many USB devices: just the wifi dongle
Kind of wireless network: I'm using a Zyxel P-334U router, 802.11b/g mode, channel 13, WPA-PSK
Router firmware: latest used

As I said, I also tried to use my Iphone 4 as wifi emitter. And the box doesn't see it too.

May I try to install another image?

I tried the dongle on my PC (a big thanks to sunespeg for the driver!) and it works very well (I'm actually connected with the dongle).

I suggest to use the latest OpenVuplus official image downloadable from http://code.vuplus.com

I will try to put here an updated version of rtl8192cu driver to be tested in your box

Just for info and in case other get in same problem: The driver package from HP named: sp52212.exe (22mb),has drivers for that card for xp, vista+win7 32&64 bit.It works for other systems than HP too. I was in same problem and could not get a working driver from realtek. I didnt attach the file since it not directly related to vu+/bh and should be easely found on web.

I just finished to install the latest official vuplus image and it works very well with this image. No driver installed, just plugged the dongle and configure the wifi settings!

Have I to wait the next BH version to use my dongle with it?

I installed the IPK for the UNO (r8192cu_3-4-4-4749-20121105-r2-bh1_vuuno-ipk), restarted the box but the problem is still there. :-/

Hi everybody, I have bought an usab dongle "on networks" and it seems this driver must recognize it, however it can not, in windows the hardware id shows:
USB\VID_0846&PID_9042&REV_0200
USB\VID_0846&PID_9042

The model is "on networks n150", I have a vu+ solo with bh 2.0.7.

Can developpers add this one to next driver update?
Thanks
