stream from openwebif to itunes

Hello folks, trying to stream from OpenWebIF to itunes, (on a mac)
however the audio comes out all garbled on the speaker.
I have tried streaming to VLC, which works OK, albeit with a few little glitches here and there.

Does anyone know of any audio streaming solutions that I might be able to use, preferably free, on a mac.
I want to be able to listen to BBC radio, that I can't receive on the radio in my area, but can listen just fine where I'm at on satellite.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I don't think you can use iTunes to connect a Mac to a Vu+.
As far as I know, the best way to replay a streaming is to use VLC.
If you don't want to use directly OpenWebif on a browser, you can use iDreamX but however you will need to use VLC.
