Tevii S660 not working??

Hi!

Got a Tevii S660 DVBS2 USB-Tuner here which works perfectly on my PC.

I connected it to my Solo running BlackHole 1.5 Image.
Selecting driver and rebooting the receiver permits me to enable the driver in USB Tuner panel and USB-Tuner is recognized correctly and shown as working. Just did a new reboot and confirmed that driver ist still active and working in USB Panel.

After that, I configured the Tuner as configured by my Satellite equipment. From that point, even after rebooting the Solo, the Solo gets horribly sloooow and I get no picture at all, even not from integrated Tuner of the Solo.

If I deactivate the driver, all works normal and I get a picture again from integrated tuner of Solo.

I connected the USB-Box in Front USB-Connector. Another USB-Stiock is connected to the Back-Connector.

What can be the problem? Has the Solo not enough CPU-Power to support the Tevii S660?

You can try to use the Tevii S660 without any other USB device connected to the box.
I cannot make some tests in this vacation days :(

Hi,

ok. Now I connected only the Tevii to the back of the Solo. The receiver keeps his speed, if I configure the Tevii as same of integrated tuner.

I make a record to force Solo using the Tevii-Tuner. Then, on SD channels, I get a picture, but with freezes (freezes of ca. 1 sec every 3-4 sec.). On HD channels it takes really a lot of time until I get a picture, but I get it. But in that case, the picture comes up for ca. 1-2 sec and freezes again immediately. It takes about 7-8 sec to get a picture again.

Is that all what is possible for now? Does it work better on the DUO maybe?

EDIT: I get only a picute on USB-Tuner if I start Enigma2 via telnet. Otherwise, no chance to get a picture on USB-Tuner (not importing of SD or HD channel!).

@angelofsky1980:

Any news for our Tevii S660? Are the drivers for this USB-Tuner also updated in BH 1.6, so that it is better working? Or is there still development/time needed?

Don't understand it bad, I have a lot of time. Just asking about the status.

Thx.

You can use the TeVii S660 device but there are some limits: HD channel can not works properly but SD channels works great.
We have updated the driver for this device when we release the BH 1.6 :)
Sorry for this delay in reply.

Hi!

Thx for your answer. If SD channels work great then it could be enough for the moment. Will try it and report the results.

I've make some tests with my s660 and only SD channels for now works great.
I will work around HD channels in near weeks.
thanks for your report.

I've seen on the web some patches to make better support around that device and I will apply on my test box on next days.

Hi angelofsky1980,

i tried this new image and tried to load the new driver.

Unfortunately, when I select the driver for Tevi S660 from USB panel, and enable it later on, it says to me that no supported devices where found. Even Enigma restart did not help.

The only way to have supported devices found, was to select driver for S630. Then, after forcing me to restart Enigma2, the USB tuner is configurable in Tuner devices. But even with this driver I get no picture! It fails on getting signal...

What can be the/(my) problem??

Hi blackedipz99,

sorry for the delayed answer.

I tested now my Tevi S660 with the Solo I have here. Have to say that it works much better than before. I can tell you that for using the receiver as twin tuner with SD/SD channels and SD/HD channels it works perfect. As soon as you want to see two HD channels at the same time (well recording or streaming one and watching the other) the box gets horribly slow and picture freezes (little mosaic) every 5 seconds. Same happens if you record one SD channel and one HD channel, and want to watch a different (2nd) HD channel that is on the same transponder as the first HD channel. I dont know if this is a poblem of the Solo hardware. Maybe the Tevi S660 works almost perfect in every case on a Duo (or Uno/Ultimo). Maybe angelofsky1980 can tell us something about the behaviuor on a Duo?

So, we can say that with this configuration I have not a real twin tuner as the Duo is, but a, let's say, one-and-a-half-tuner receiver.

Great work from angelofsky1980 so far!!!! Thx!!

Hallo all,
fresh registered here, but I am using BH image over 1 Year with my VU+ Duo, many thanks to DreamElite group for this great job and keep going with all the new functions !!!

Recently I also purchased the TeviiS660 USB tuner to extend my SAT reception and recordings and add 1 more dish to VU+, but can't get it work properly (tested on a PC/NB it works OK)
Can I please get some advice, how to install it correctly ? This is step-by-step how I did it, probably there is something incorect, but I can't find out what :

1. Install new image BH 1.6.2 from Flash via front USB using USB stick (with all other rear USB devices disconnected, so Tevii S660 is not plugged/connected into box)
2. Push Blue button on Remote 2x, to get extra plugin menu, select USB Tuner section, select one tuner, select Tevii S660, Install driver
3. After message " Now You can enable the USB tuner" I Plug -in the Tevii S660 to rear USB port, wait 10 sec to get recognised by OS, then press "Activate" the tuner using Remote
4. Reboot GUI, status shows Tevii is ACTIVE
5. Go to MENU/Setting/Tuner C, I select USALS for the new USB tuner, set Longitude/Latitude data, confirm OK, Exit Settings menu
(Tuner A is set as Diseqc, Tuner B is undefined - just for this test I have replugged the Coax from motorised dish from Tuner B to Tevii)
6. Go to list of channels, select any FTA channel that works normally and the icon "dish rotating" is blinking - checking the dis - it moves OK
7. If I press OK on remote to see chanell info, signal strenght indicator shows 97% for the channel, but NO PICTURE at all, SD/HD, no diference
8. Rebooting or powercycle the VU+ Duo while Tevii is conneted in USB results that front LCD on VU+ stays dark and box is not booting at all, I have to unplug the Tevii first from USB.

Questions:
1. Is the above procedure OK or not ? (must both Tuners A and B be defined and active to get also the USB Tuner C working properly ?)
2. Shall I first plug in the Tevii before performing step 2 ?
3. How to operate the Tevii with the VU+ related to receiver power OFF/ON - does it need to be unplugged/re-plugged anytime when recver is switched OFF/ON ?
4. Is there any aditional procedure neccessary to make the Tevii connected "pernamently" ? (similar as HDD or USB flash needs a "mount")
5. Are there any limitation in current driver for Tevii Tuner setings (Single LNB, 2x LNB-A/B, 4x LNB - A/B/C/D , USALS rotor) ???

Thank You for Your response and support.
