Hi everyone,

I'm having this problema with BH 2.1.6.1

Every time I try to add a timer, or start recording a TV channel, I get the green screen, and reboot. then I have the message saying that my Timers.xml is corrupt.

I use Filezilla to acess my VU+ UNO, and at the /etc/enigma2 directory I just have the file 'timers.xml_OLD'.

I've tried to edit or copy the content of the original file to 'timers.xml_OLD', or rename it, copy the timers.xml to this directory, with no luck. Every time I get error messages from the box, and I can't do any of this actions.

The box it's not in standby, its working. Could be this, and should be in standby so I can perform any of the actions I'm trying ?

Open a telnet connection to the box and send the command:
init 4
At the same time open also a ftp connection and replace/rename the file you need
Again in telnet send the command:
init 3

Enjoy!

Hi Eragon,
Done that.

Done init 4 and tried to copy, faild. done init 3 tried to copy, failed.

And when it copys, the file is empty, and I can't change the attributes to 644.

I was able to copy paste one time, but the VU+ restarted with an error, (green screen) and everything is back to the same.

Don't copy, try only to delete it.
Before init 4 and after init 3 all operations on that file will be discarded when the box will be suspended or powered off.

Ok, I've done that. Deleted the file.

I then powered off the box, but when it startup, I get a green screen with error, and another restart.

And there isn't any file, timer.xml.

I restarted the box, another green screen with error, restarted, and the message with the timers.xml corrupted.

I've checked, and the file is there again, timers.xml_OLD.

timers.xml_OLD certainly does not cause crash of your image
He is not in use.
If you delete timers.xml in the first activation of timer is being made new timers.xml
If you correctly deleted timers.xml
Image should start without crash.

I think ,It's something else.
But what I do know from this distance.

Do you have a crash log in / HDD
Perhaps you can upload.

I think you can do two things.
Install image again.
If that does not help ,
then you have to re-format and install HDD agn.

If this does not help then the question is if the HDD is good
You have to test it on the computer.

I personally think if not corrupted image that the HDD is causing the problem.

Hi Matrix10,

I can't find timers.xml, only timers.xml_OLD in /etc/enigma2.

And this Saturday, everything worked ok, since I've add two timers, and I record 2 programs without any issue.

I upload the log file after the last restart.

If nothing works, I'm going to install a fresh image again.

This is from your crash log

IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device

What probably means that your flash memory is full.
Which means that you're overflowing with something flash and that there are no more places
also not for timers.xml.

re-install clean image
if you do not know why the flash is full.
BUT
If you like to try you can also delete all unused plugins and skins
delete crash logs in /HDD if any
If you have installed picons Perhaps in a flash instead of USB.

Thanks Matrix10, thats my problem.

I have a lot of picons, and some of them (for a specific satélite) I could not install. There was no message, and for sure was out of space.

I'll uninstall them, and put them on a USB pen.

Hi,
My Vu+ is working normally now.

Just ftp my pircons to my PC, put a USB stick (8Gbytes) with 2 partitions (Universe and usb).
FTP picons to the usb stick.

The EPG is on the HDD, but gone put them on the stick, probably is faster to update, and to refresh with channel change.

And now flash memory is 75% used, and the timers.xml file appears, and everything’s working. :D

Thank you all. :thanks:
