transcoding and ports 8001,8002 and proxy 8003

Hello
Anyone can expalain me transcoding , how to use in the best way , why we use this.
The second question is about ports 8001, 8002, difference which port is the best to use and why.
Last question is about port proxy 8003 becouse i reade somewhere the soft 2.0.7 have this function but maybe i am wrong
Any please if someone can explain me this few question in details

8001 is the standard streaming port. 8002 is the default transcoding port and 8003 is the port for file transcoding

Thats basic stuff which i know, anyone can say in more details
Still looking for answer for my question plus extend my question for " 8003 is the port for file transcoding" can i please for more details, how it's work's , when we use this etc.
