Troubles with VU+ 300N WLAN USB adapter [rtl8192cu]

Hi everyone...
I'm having problems with the VU+ 300N WLAN USB adapter on my VU+ SOLO with BH 1.6.6.
The device USB stick is detected, it look like is conected to my WIFI network, but my VU SOLO is still invisible...
On the config menu in BH everything is working, but the status light is still off and sometimes doesn't recognize DNS...
Honestly, I don't know what to do...
I connect the VU with LAN connection and everything is OK.
My modem/router is: HUAWEI HG532C
I'm not a Linux specialist, so I need help please.
Thanks a lot !!!

I suggest to upgrade your image to 1.6.7 (latest Beta).
I've tested yesterday the Vu+ Wifi dongle with Solo and both works great.

goto:
main menu- > setup -> system -> network ->
select "WLAN connection" and click on button :"Default" (yellow button)
This should solve.

Upgrade image is done... BH 1.6.7 beta3 and nothing...
I've tried with others sticks with the same results.
My VU+ SOLO HD is still wwithout WIFI...
I've tried to select in menu 'default' with the yellow button, but in this screen yellow button is disabled.
I'm kind of desperate because I bouught this decoder last Monday and I don't know if I must return to shop because of this problem...
My router WLAN settings are IEE 802.11n with WEP encryption...
I don't know if I must install some drivers of de CD's stick for LINUX or what...
Thanks a lot fellas...

First change encryption of your WiFi network! WEP is very weak security! Please reconfigure your router with at least WPA-PSK!

I've used Vu+ 300N adapter on Solo, WPA/WPA2 wifi network and Solo (BH 1.6.7) and all works regularly.

No news... Vu+ 300N adapter on Solo, WPA2 wifi network and Solo (BH 1.6.7) and still the same...
Every test of network is different... sometimes DNS are 'not confirmed', sometimes IP is 'not confirmed'...
I ping the IP and nothing... I don't know...

i have same problem with BELKIN N600 DB

Please move the USB wifi dongle in the front of your box for a brief test.
I think it's a obstacle problem of your wifi network.
Try also to maximize the power of your wifi network with the router/access point options.
Last operation to make is to use WPA encrypt ....

Hi!

I believe I have this problem too.

Have
- Vu+ 300N Wireless LAN USB adapter
- BlackHole-2.0.9.1-vuuno_usb
- Adapter identifies as rtl8192cu
SSID: Wireless
WPA / AES with (confirmed) key
The BlackHole scans are able to find wireless AP, ESSID, Protocol, frequency etc.
I configured it to run on DHCP at first...
--> looks good
But test shows:
LAN adapter: OK
Wireless network: Disconnected
DHCP: Enabled
IP address Unconfirmed
Nameserver: Unconfirmed
This holds true for both REAR USB ports
If I shutdown BlackHole, and move the dongle to the port in front, and boots on the same config without doing anything - just run the same test it shows:
LAN adapter: OK
Wireless network: Disconnected
DHCP: Enabled
IP address Confirmed
Nameserver: Confirmed
And I'm able to ping the Vu+ from my computer...
So I presume there is something wrong with the config for the rear USB ports?
I'll "live" with using the front one if necessary, but would much rather have the back ones working too...

Any tips&hints to a newbie?

@yarnslayer : You have to configure Wireless LAN and to disable LAN adapter.
Yes, I have done that... :)
The unchanged config works when plugging the USBdongle in in the front port, but not in any of the rear ports...

I got a tip from the guy that sold me the box&wireless: "interference, try to move the wireless USB dongle furher away with a cable" so I'll try that and report back.

Ah - now I see what you're getting at. Well. This was after disabling the LAN adapter. But it seems to me that this BH may have some trouble with LAN & WAN? No mather how I disable the LAN the test shows the result above, even though the LAN adapter shows up as disabled in the adapter list.

Ah - GOT it!

A long cord really helped. Now I can see my neigbhour's AP as well. Then - secondmost... First to configure the settings just as I did yesterday, and THEN - to restart the network once more. I thougth that just accepting "activating" woud do the trick, but it obviously did not. Well - maybe my experience will help some others.

I still have some name server trouble, but that's not important for now.
