uno4k yet again

Hi there

This is my second uno4k box and I keep on getting issues which never happened with the Solo2 I had for nearly 5 or 6 years.

The problem is I decided to flash from openBH to BH and although the process went as usual I'm stuck with the splash screen and the box refuses to boot.

Have ftp and telnet access but the boot folder is empty. Tried to reflash with different usb sticks all formatted in fat32 with different images but no way the uno4k will start.

Any ideas ???

You may be able to use telnet to find the problem and fix it. Telnet to the box, then use the telnet command init 4 then type enigma2. The box should reboot with debug information in telnet. Post the debug information.

A debug file can be made in the /tmp folder of the box using these telnet commands:

INIT 4
enigma2 > /tmp/debug.log 2>&1

No hdd connected. I'll remove the coax cables and will reflash now. I'll return with the new debug log. Thanks

Got a friend with a uno4 kSE who's got the boot files of his box. Since mine are missing do you reckon I could use his for the same image ??

Why does the VideoWizard keep looping?

As a test, remove the HDMI cable from the box, then restart the box by removing the power to the box. Then start telnet, init 4 , enigma2 again. See if the output is the same.

Boot Files??? What are they exactly? Everything needed to make the receiver boot and run is supposed to be including in the image that you loaded in the box. There should be no need to load seperate boot files, and I do not understand exactly which files you are talking about.

never mind the boot folder. Tried it without the hdmi cable and it's still the same. Anything else I can do or is the box bricked ??

I did not fully understand your problem.
Do you have a picture on TV? what is happening ??
In your file, we see a clear configuration for video mode.
Is there a problem that you do not have a picture on your TV?
If it is
Did you connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI output port instead of the HDMI input port ?
Is HDMI Cable Good?
Did you test on another TV or another HDMI port on your TV ?

I doubt it's bricked, as you state you can access the receiver using Telnet and a FTP program.

Which brand/model USB sticks have you tried?
Does the Uno 4K have a different USB port, you can try?
Have you tried loading the original image?

Yes I have Mick. Every usb stick worked fine in either this box or on my old Solo2 before. Also installed the original Vu+ image for this receiver and tried both the rear and the side usb ports of the box.

The flashing procedure happens as normal and as usual but after powering the box on again after removing the flashing usb stick, I get the splash screen of the latest image I've just installed for a few seconds, then the TV goes black and that's it. Tried it with different hdmi cables and in another TV and it's always the same thing.

Can connect to the box via dcc and when I press the ftp option I can see the root system with all the directories there. They're all populated except the boot one between the bin and dev folders. No idea why it's empty or only get filled after the box actually boots normally.

I can't explain this any better and I'm totally puzzled like you probably are. My bad ...

Why does the VideoWizard keep looping?

As a test, remove the HDMI cable from the box, then restart the box by removing the power to the box. Then start telnet, init 4 , enigma2 again. See if the output is the same.

No idea. I'm no expert on these matters. Forgot to say the remote is working (light blinks on the box with every button pressed) but no action obviously.

Does your tv receive 50 Hz video? ( The receiver is defaulting to 720p 50 Hz.)
Can you connect to the box using the computer's web browser by typing the box ip into the web browser's address bar?

Have you tried loading your back up channel list, using dreamboxedit?
Please report back after trying el badido's advice, of using openwebif, to connect to your receiver.

STOP PRESS - SORTED

For umpteenth time I reflashed the box with the regular BH image and it has finally booted !! This time I did remove the power cord from the box before powering it up again and it did the trick. Thanks for the tip el bandido :) Don't know if this was just luck but it worked.

Thanks guys for all the input. Top fellas !!

Cheers

Pedro
