Video is not fluent in OBH 4.1 media player

Here's a video of a short scene with OBH 4.1 media player:

And here's the same scene with OpenATV 6.1 media player:

As it can be easily noticed, OBH plays it with hiccups while it is quite fluent in OATV.

Hope it can be fixed soon in future updates, here's the original sample file if anyone wants to try:

And you have it with all mp4 files and not just with this one ???

It is clear that something is not good with that file because my test with other mp4 has no such occurrence.

Yes, it's the same in all fast scenes. That's why it cought my attention and I decided to make these videos.
Normal scenes are all okay, only fast scenes.

I do not know, I only have a couple of files.
Momentarily with UNO4K SE, I do not notice anything in the fast-action recording mp4
(much faster video than your file)
in your MP4 I see that,with hiccups.

I'm not sure why it happens - not super fast scenes but moving scenes like turning, walking etc. are shown with hiccups in OBH.
I wouldn't mind if it was the same in OpenATV too (in multiboot), but as you can see in the video, it is fluent there.
That's why I decided to report.

I do not know why
because basically the image base is the same.
I'll try the multiboot when I have time.
Besides, I do not see this on my box but with quality MP 4 files i use for testing.

Tested with OpenATV multiboot Uno 4K SE
as well as the Open Black Hole.
There is no difference between one and the other,
both with hiccups with your test file.
With my test file no problems.

Maybe a little difference
but the difference I see, also depending on the harddisk in use
In the mp4 file exactly you can see that skips the video frames (stops at least twice) , also in OpenATV.
Maybe ATV can handle it in some way.
I would ask the coders to look at it...

Thank you so much, that would be great. Even though I try different images in multiboot, OBH 4.1 is now my favorite one. I wouldn't want to switch to another image in OMB just for watching movies. ;)

Here's another sample from a movie I watched tonight, maybe it can help to pinpoint the problem. This one is original cut without re-encode, so the size is bigger.
Same outcome - hiccups in OBH, fluent in OATV.

I can not test now.
But the fact is that earlier test file does not work well on Pli,VIX,OBH,VU,BH image
Which means it does not work well on any image except for a part with ATV.
Namely, with the good mp4 files there is no difference between the images.
ATV accepts better defective mp4, drop in video frames etc
I do not believe OE-A including OBH can improve it without improvement/change
based on OE-A coding.
By the information I received.
ATV uses a different base (GStreamer) and simple replacement is not possible.
But you can try PLI forums they have good coders for video problems.

Strange is that you have problems with good mp4 files and fast scenes.
I can not confirm this.

I have test your sample.

test with video A/V settings on 60 Hz (no problem)

I do not know where the problem is
but i have at least 100 mkv files where there is no problem at all.
and I have mkv files you can not see on Enigma 2 images at all .

:D

But it's not true that all the files do not work well on OBH and other OE-A images.
The ones I have and tested worked the same on ATV and OBH,Pli
Maybe some files work better on ATVs because they use some other GSstreamer or the like.

We can test various files for a month.
You suggest there is a problem with all video files with fast scenes
and this is not so with me tested on two different boxes and HDD
with ts,mkv,mp4 files,
constant problem with all video files does not exist.

Bingo!
Thank you for this solution, it was the refresh rate that was causing faulty playback.
My refresh rate was set to 'Auto', now it's 60 Hz and the problem is solved.
Now the question is: Why OBH can't set the appropriate refresh rate with 'Auto' setting during media playback, while openATV can?
And another question: Is it harmful for TV (I think I read it somewhere) if I leave the refresh rate setting at 60 Hz permanently, or it doesn't matter at all?
Thanks again for your time, at least now we know that OBH media player is ok, there's something with refresh rate detection.

All modern televisions can work without problems at 60 Hz.

Because Atv has changed something in image coding
now if OE-A will change it I do not know.
We do not change base coding for BH so for OBH.
