Vu+ Day in Amsterdam

Hmm... what does this mean? XBMC or not?! Sound's like there won't be VU+ receivers with XBMC integrated! Is there any concrete roadmap?

Dear Customer,

Thank you for the interest in Vu+ product.
Vu+ will release a new product and will be announced during the ANGA show in June.
Regarding the question regarding XBMC, Vu+ doesn't have a plan to support XBMC.
Vu+ will continue to develop Enigma as before.

Sincerely,
Vu+ Team

Don't worry.
The prototype running Xbmc will be at Vu+ stand at Anga cable on next june.
But the best surprise will be the new Duo and Solo second editions.
Really faboulus hardware.

Marusys Co. Ltd., a Korean comany that also produces Vu+ set-top-boxes have now at Anga Cable 2012 announced their "PrismCube" or "Prism Cube", a two-tuner set-top-box that is based on XBMC software

The software fork of XBMC-PVR that it uses is called "XBMC4STB"and is designed for SH4 CPU/SoC based set-top-boxes, with open source code available already as sh4 duckbox project

Development Chat:

User Chat:

So my questions that I have here now is if this set-top-box will still aslo be released under the Vu+ branded box with XBMC on it? and if the OS will still be Enigma Linux based or not?

We have almost the end of the year, and the thread is dead. Why is that? Solo2 is out, now time for Duo2. Does anybody know if Duo2 is going to have XBMC on board? It will be quite powerfull machine anyway... Seems Prism Cube will not appear earlier than in the end of 1st quarter 2013 or even in 2nd quarter 2013. Any news on this?

That's a pity.
From the other point of view, the finally released version of Solo2 was better in at least 3 points, than previously announced. Maybe this time we will be surprised too. :)

Any news about XBMC for next-generation Vu+ set-top boxes? Or next-next-generation Vu+ box with XBMC?

l know that Marusys already released their PrismCube based on XBMC4STB but wondering now about Vu+

Vu+ set-top box hardware is high-end compared to Marusys's PrismCube so would better do XBMC justice.
